If any French resort has ‘Family Ski Holidays’ written all over it, it has to be La Rosiere. It ticks the boxes all year round due to its excellent resort height of 1850m and its sunny south facing slopes.
La Rosiere has 2 centres both of which have perfect nursery areas and lots of accommodation which is either slope side or else a very short walk to the slopes. The older side of La Rosiere has a broad selection or traditional chalets and chalet apartments as well as a selection of self-catered apartments and a small selection of hotels in which to stay in. The newer end of La Rosiere (Les Eucherts) is a purpose built mainly pedestrianised attractive centre which also has several types of accommodation to choose from.
Entertainment and leisure facilities are available either on one or the other resorts which are linked by a flat wooded and floodlit path which makes for a fun walk from end to end. There’s bowling and ice skating at the Les Eucherts end of town and a small selection of bars shops and restaurants at both.
There are many operators which offer childcare in house if you book your chalet early enough (especially for the peak school holiday dates). However, the local ski schools at both ends of the resort which have an excellent reputation can also add on childcare before or after lessons.
The wide easy green and blue slopes are absolutely perfect for your children to gain skills and confidence on and the wider area over into La Thuile in Italy will delight the more adventurous members of the group.
