Verbier is one of Switzerland’s most popular ski resorts for advanced skiers, renowned for its off-piste skiing, and lively nightlife. Verbier is one of the worlds cult ski resorts.
The ski range is between 1500m to 3330m and it offers 412km of pistes, although this measurement has been disputed by one German cartographer, who has made his name challenging the exaggerated lengths of slopes around the globe. Verbier is thought to be one of the worst offenders. However, the copious off piste means you won’t ski it all in a week.
The days of a cheap ski holiday in Switzerland are over, when many British tour operators pulled out of Switzerland after the Swiss announced that holidays workers (chalet staff) would be paid the high minimum wage equivalent to €4,500 a month, which made it uneconomical to run catered chalets.
