Ski Holidays in Hinterglemm & Fieberbrunn
Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn have been connected by a new ski lift since 2015 so the ski area, known as the Ski-Circus which includes Saalbach and Leogang now offers a combined 270km of pistes spread across 4 attractive villages. The lifts are all fast gondolas or chairs, there are NO slow lifts here!
The village heights of Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn are located at around 1000m with the ski range between 830m and 2,095m.
Heading anticlockwise it’s possible to ski the full circuit on skis which include some good red runs. If you prefer to ski on blues runs go clockwise, it’s a little shorter but just as much fun.

Why Ski in Hinterglemm & Fieberbrunn?
The three ski resort of Hinterglemm, Fieberbrunn and Saalbach have at last installed the new lift that links 3 villages. (4 if you include Leogang) It’s been a dream of the villages for decades and finally the new lift opens in December 2015. This newly enlarged ski area now offers 270km of piste is now Austria’s largest linked ski area. (See blog about this)
The two resorts of Saalbach and Hinterglemm have for long time been closely associated as they only 4 KM apart. Now thanks to the new high speed gondola link between Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn make these two resorts have become three with the addition of Fieberbrunn and makes this ski area well worth another visit.
Skiers visiting this area will enjoy fast modern lifts and gondolas with virtually all the slow lifts now replaced, in fact one of this old lifts now takes pride of place in our head office reception area.
The lifts and slopes are very close to the villages so you can gain quick access up to the skiing. The runs are very interesting and being part of the Ski Circus area you can travel around without having to go back to one central point to continue on. There is a good party atmosphere in the resort, with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Hinterglemm connects with 270km of slopes and with 20 different ways up from the valley there are no major crowds first thing in the morning. Most of the accommodation in Hinterglemm is ski in ski out. So too are our hotels in Fieberbrunn.

Beginners skiing in Hinterglemm & Fieberbrunn
Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn can offer beginners some very spacious nursery slopes. These are all north facing so whilst they lack in sun they will have better snow later on in the day or season. You can progress easily to the next stage of blue runs from this point.
Intermediates skiing in Hinterglemm & Fieberbrunn
Intermediate skiers will find the ski resort of Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn great for reds and blue runs. The whole ski area is very large and is well linked by the impressive lift system so that you will enjoy cruising around up in the mountains for some time.
Advanced skiing in Hinterglemm & Fieberbrunn
For the more advanced skier in Hinterglemm there are some great challenging runs on the north facing side of the mountain. This area can also offer some great off piste opportunities for those who are not challenged enough on the groomed areas.
Snowboarding in Hinterglemm & Fieberbrunn
The snowboarders will enjoy Hinterglemm for boarding. It is quickly becoming a popular area with all levels being able to board here. There are mainly chairs and gondolas with a minimal amount of drag lifts connecting them. With very few flat parts and plenty of off piste terrain between lifts there are lots of areas to cover, there is also a half pipe in Bernkogel. The snow park at Fieberbrunn is very popular with boarders.
Après ski in Hinterglemm & Fieberbrunn
The Après Hinterglemm is lively. There are live bands to enjoy in the early evening then you can move on to the Bauer’s Schi-alm which is a lively bar. Ice bars are also popular in this resort and there is a good bar called Tanzhimmel which has a nice sized dance floor and there tends to be a wide range of ages there, this bar plays live music late in to the night. The Goastall bar also gets good reports. Fieberbrunn is a lot quieter but still with a few lively bars for the end of the day.
Activities off the slopes in Hinterglemm & Fieberbrunn
For the non-skiers in Hinterglemm there is a swimming pool with sauna, massage and solarium available. There are also some outdoor activities such as ice skating, curling, tobogganing, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, quad bikes and ice carts. Some of these you may need to travel to Saalbach for. There are also day excursions organised locally in resort to Salzburg.
