Alpbach is one of the Alps most picturesque villages in the Austrian Tyrol. Its traditional wooden farmhouses look spectacular set against the Gratlspitz peaks. Alpbach is part of the Ski Juwel ski area which offers 143km of pistes, of which 32km are blue runs, 78km red and 35km of black runs.
The ski range is between 828m to 2100m serviced by 12 gondolas, 13 chairlifts and 44 drag lifts (Which may put off some snowboarders) Night skiing is available at Reith and 23 mountain restaurants provide refreshment on the slopes.
The skiing in Alpbach is best suited to beginners and intermediate skiers. The gondola makes a link between the Inner-Alpbach with the Wildschonau giving a huge choice of suitable runs. The village also offers 75km of cross country trails, (22km in the local area).
