Why Ski in Alpbach?

The ski resort of Alpbach in Austria is a very pretty resort. A long favourite resort in the UK market, Alpbach is suitable for all levels of skier. Situated at the front of the valley the slopes of Wiedersbergerhorn overlook this traditional village. There are 2 gondolas that take you up the north facing mountain, where above the tree line you will fine a good selection of red and black runs and a few blues. The nursery slopes are just to the side of the village. The pistes are very well groomed and have very good snow making facilities.

Beginners skiing in Alpbach

There are 2 choices for beginners in Alpbach. You can use the wide nursery slopes in the village or a short (5 minutes) bus ride to the gondola of Wiedersbergerhorn where you can try the nursery slopes in Hornboden.

Intermediates skiing in Alpbach

Intermediates can enjoy the excellent choice of red and blue runs on the mountain of Wiedersbergerhorn. The gondola will take you up to the main skiing area. These tree lined slopes are a delight to ski down.

Advanced skiing in Alpbach

The advanced skier in Alpbach will find some hard red runs and a few black runs. The off piste is highly recommended, with a guide, for a more challenging ski.

Snowboarding in Alpbach

Alpbach is boarder friendly, with the fun park and wide open runs most levels of boarders can enjoy this area. The terrain is pleasant and yet challenging.

For the non skiers in Alpbach there is an indoor swimming pool. If you travel across to Reith there is also an indoor ice skating rink. You could talk a walk out as the views are spectacular. If you want to take a day trip to Innsbruck or Salzburg this can be arranged locally.
