Children ski lessons in La Plagne

The various hubs of La Plagne are many and varied, from the higher purpose-built ski in ski out villages such as Plagne 2100 and Plagne Centre down to the pretty former farming villages such as Les Coches and Montchavin. There are all sorts of accommodation choices for families from budget friendly self-catered apartments, to swanky hotels and chalets with all the bells and whistles!

La Plagne caters so well for families that many family friendly operators base themselves here which means you will have a wide choice of accommodation to choose from. Ski Line have a huge choice here. If you are looking for chalets or hotels with childcare included, you do need to book early as they prove to be very popular and peak dates especially sell out early.

La Plagne centre has recently been updated and the old 60’s shopping centre has been transformed into a sleek selection of covered shops bars and restaurants which make for a happy afternoon après ski place to be. The slopes all lead down to this main point and all lifts run from here to the rest of the ski area, this makes La Plagne centre a great place to be located if you are a family.

Just above the Centre is Aime La Plagne and Plagne 2000 which are purpose built resorts and ski in out with Club Med All-Inclusive hotels and many apartments and chalets. The Club Med hotel in Aime La Plagne is all inclusive, affordable as it’s a 3* and has childcare included in the cost (babies pay a small fee for the week). There’s not so much to do in these two resorts for families, however there is a cable car that runs until late to get you to and from La Plagne centre which is really convenient.

Below La Plagne Centre is the village of Plagne 1800 which consists of many chalets, the ski school here is excellent, you can also reach Plagne centre by local free bus if you prefer to start lessons up there or get there for après ski as La Plagne 1800’s resort centre is very small and offers only a handful of shops bars and restaurants.

Les Coches and Montchavin and 1450m and 1250m respectively are situated close to each other near to the link over to Les Arcs. Les Coches is a small resort with a traffic free centre and has a kindergarten and there are also some chalets with in house childcare here too. Montchavin is the older hamlet , again traffic free and is rustic in style. Again, there’s a nursery here and ski school as well as some chalets with in house childcare.

Plagne Bellecote is a large purpose built area containing many apartments and hotels with many ski schools.

Of course, it goes without saying that the better the hotel you book the more facilities it will have so if you want a hotel with pool, best book as soon as you can to guarantee family rooms. La Plagne 1800 has both bowling and tubing and Plagne centre and the village of Bellecote has toboggan runs.
