Wherever you stay in Lake Louise you will have to get the bus to the slopes, however forewarned is forearmed – and if you are willing to accept this you can make the most of some of the most stunning scenery there is to be had in a ski resort anywhere in Canada.
Off the slopes there’s also dog sledding and if you feel like splashing out you can also take a helicopter flight with snowshoeing and BBQ which is part of the Wilson Icefield Discovery tour - this gets great reviews!
If you want something more lively take the bus to Banff which is a 45 min journey.
The skiing is varied with slopes to suit all skiers with pistes running wide and clear on the upper slopes and also with wooded areas too on the lower slopes. The mid week period will be the quietest time without queues and weekends will no doubt be busy as the locals appear.
Families and children are well catered for on the slopes. There are some long green runs here, some with absolutely stunning views. There are three magic carpets which serve the good nursery area which is situated near the base. Once the nursery area has been mastered there are specific wide learning areas. There is also an adventure park too.
There are good nursery facilities if you need childcare and the ski school comes with excellent reviews including a good teenagers programme.
