Brand spanking new for the 2017/18 winter season. Directly on the slopes, it's not just ski in, ski out but built into the piste - arguably the best location in Les Arcs. The open plan lounge and dining area has a huge central fireplace as the focal point and a show kitchen to watch how the chefs rustle up your delicious food each evening. The height of this room is impressive with windows climbing up the two-storey frontage flooding the space with natural light. The terrace spills out the from the lounge with fantastic panoramic mountain views to enjoy around the fire pit. Relaxing around an outdoor roaring fire after a day on the slopes can only be topped by having a cup of hot cocoa or a large glass of wine in hand. Something we hope you'll enjoy as much as we do.

As you can ski to and from the ski room door there's absolutely no walking in your ski boots required. In the evenings, it's 100m stroll across the piste to the centre of Arc 2000, you'll be hitting the après of the village in no time. Alternatively, you can relax in the chalet pool and sauna, have some afternoon tea and cake around the fire or catch a movie in the TV lounge before the pre-dinner bubbles and canapes come around.

The chalet sleeps 14 people in 7 rooms including a junior and master suite. Floating over the lounge at the front of the chalet is a mezzanine chill out area which links via a glass walkway to the TV lounge. In total, there are three separate seating areas so plenty of space to spread out. The second-floor areas are perfect to get away from it all, whether you get stuck into a book, crack out Kerplunk or catch up with an old series of Friends, it's yours to use how you see best. The whole chalet has a modern mountain style, full of cosy features and a pastel inspired colour scheme. As you'd expect, there's plenty of real wood or slate flooring with underground heating throughout the chalet - you can't beat toasty floors in the mornings.

    Board basis

Chalet des Cascades is a catered chalet which includes breakfast with hot options, afternoon tea and cakes, pre-dinner canapés with sparkling wine as well as a four-course evening meal followed by aperitifs. This is all prepared by in house chefs in the open show kitchen, so you may get to watch them in action.

Each week there is a chalet night off, this is normally a Tuesday or Wednesday. On this day, you'll still get breakfast as well as the afternoon tea, however, there'll be no evening meal. The chalet staff can help you with booking restaurants or simply recommending places to try.

    Flexible durations available all season

Chalet des Cascades can be booked for short breaks all season long, even during peak dates such as Christmas, New Year and Half Term. You can book either room by room or have sole occupancy of the chalet December through April.

    What we like:

    • The incredible ski in, ski out location on beginner friendly slopes. Ski down to the Saint Jacques chairlift each morning
    • Fire pit on the terrace with fantastic mountain views
    • Underfloor heating throughout
    • Central open fire place in the lounge/dining area with floating chill out space above
    • Indoor pool and sauna with showers for late check outs

    Worth knowing:

    • Les Arcs 2000 is 100m away, but access is across a piste so you will need snow friendly boots
    • There is a chalet skidoo to get your luggage to the chalet and maybe yourselves too if you're lucky - It can also take you to town if the staff are free
    • One of the standard rooms is wheelchair accessible and therefore a larger 22m2

    Location

There's not another chalet on the slopes in Arc 2000, the location does not get better. Sat on the beginner friendly pistes means the chalet is accessible to all ski abilities, even if you don't ski it's just 100 metres from the centre of town. You will have to walk across the piste however so make sure you bring some snow suitable footwear. The Saint Jacques chairlift is just below the chalet so you can ski down to the lift each morning. There is also a skidoo with a trailer to bring your luggage to the chalet and the staff may be able to ferry you about on it if you're lucky. Not a bad little perk.

    Rooms

Each room has mountain views as the chalet is in the middle of the piste. The view from the front of the chalet is a full mountain panorama and still slope/mountain views from the rooms. You may be able to glimpse Mont Blanc from the town side.

Each standard room is roughly the same with some slight variations in colours/style on the soft furnishings. The rooms are modern in style with TVs in every room.

    Standard twin/double rooms

There are five standard rooms and each can have either twin or double beds. There are three on the first floor and two on the second floor. Each room is ensuite with shower and toilet.

One of the first-floor rooms is fully wheelchair accessible.

    Approx. 18m2, sleeps max. 2

    Junior suite

The junior suite is on the second floor with a double or twin beds. There is a seating area around a corner so partially separated and an ensuite with a shower as well as a bath.

An extra bed is available for a child.

Approx. 36m2, sleeps max. 2 adults, 1 child

    Master suite

The spacious master suite is on the second floor with double or twin beds. The room spans the back of the chalet so you have mountain views from each side as well as the rear. The sleeping area is one side and a seating area and wrap-around ensuite on the other. The ensuite has a shower and a bath as well as double sinks.

An extra bed is available for a child.

Approx. 42m2, sleeps max. 2 adults, 1 child
