Chamrousse Ski Resort Guide
Skiing in Chamrousse
The westward exposure of the town guarantees not only excellent snow but also a lot of sun in the afternoon and evening. A special attraction is the sunset over the French lowlands. In Chamrousse you may still enjoy the evening sun whereas it already darkens in the lowlands. Not for nothing the signification of Chamrousse is ‘red snow fields’.
The village offers all amenities belonging to a modern wintersports resort as cosy cafés, pubs, restaurants, discotheques and of course several shops inviting to stroll through.
Snowboarding in Chamrousse
The resort is big on excitement and has 3 snowparks, 1 natural between the Olympique H and Olympique D, one dedicated to kids at the top of the Croix de Chamrousse and another under the Marmottes Chairlift. Due to its numerous funparks Chamrousse is reknown as ‘Espace Freestyle’.
Après ski in Chamrousse
On 2 towns really… Roche Beranger more suitable for families and Le Recoin for those wanting a slightly livelier time. Both have a good array of bars and restaurants, but this isn’t Val d’Isere so real party animals will need to get their fix with a night trip to Grenoble, otherwise there is a choice of over 20 establishments in which to eat and drink and be merry at a lot less than you’ll pay in Val d’Isere.
