Les Gets is one of Frances most popular ski resorts for families, its location to Geneva airport makes it one of the easiest and fastest ski resorts to reach, on a good day it takes around an hour for the transfer.
Les Gets is an attractive small resort with a very French feel that appeals to families. The main street has a good selection of Food, gift shops and restaurants. The centre of the village is car free which adds to the appeal.
The most popular accommodation type in Les Gets are catered ski chalets, we offer a wide choice of them, including several chalets with in-house childcare.
The skiing access is good from the village with fast lifts linking into the rest of the skiing in the Portes du Soleil ski area which is Frances second largest linked ski area. This offers a combined ski area of 650km of piste which Les Gets shares with Avoriaz, Morzine, Chatel and some of the Swiss villages which a little further afield.
In addition, Les Gets has its own, small ski area, not linked with the main ski area which is called Mont Cherry. Mont Cherry offers a good diversion on the peak weeks of the season, when the runs on this side of the valley remain deserted.
The skiing suits all levels of skier and snowboarder. The village nursery slopes are convenient and there are several free lifts for beginners.
Intermediate skiers will find plenty to challenge them on the local slopes of Les Gets and Morzine, but obviously in the wider ski area at Avoriaz and beyond to Chatel, the skiing options are even greater.
Experts will enjoy the Black runs off the back of Mont Cherry and there are some excellent wooded off piste runs.... Read more
