Why Ski in Puy-St-Vincent?

Puy-St-Vincent is a small ski area consisting of around 75km of piste and has built up a reputation as being a perfect resort for families due to in part to its uncrowded pistes.

There are two main villages, the original mountain village is located at 1400m but most of the holiday beds are located in the higher more modern village located at 1600m.

For a small ski area Puy-St-Vincent certainly has a good variety of terrain from gentle green runs to steep blacks, all of which deserve their ratings. We think this resort will suit families who are not so bothered about skiing miles and miles each day. Some of the apartments in Puy-St-Vincent are slope side, ideal for groups with young children.

The slopes between the two villages are gentle but most of the skiing and Snowboarding is above 1600m. As the slopes are North-East facing they tend to hold the snow well.

Ski Line offers mainly self catered apartment ranging in sizes from studios for 2 to larger units sleeping 6 to 8 people (including children)

Beginners skiing in Puy-St-Vincent

Puy-St-Vincent has very good nursery slopes for total beginners and there are some long green progression slopes to move on to once the basics have been mastered.

Intermediates skiing in Puy-St-Vincent

With only 75 km of piste at first glance Puy-St-Vincent may not seem to offer enough choice, but for many of our clients coming to Puy-St-Vincent time and again this never seems an issue.

Advanced skiing in Puy-St-Vincent

Puy-St-Vincent would never be our first choice for advanced skiers due simply to the size of the resort, most advanced skiers could ski every run in a day, but advanced skiers booking through ski line might be bringing the children for the first time, so it’s a great compromise resort. Some of the black runs are short, but there is a good off piste route down from the top to village which should only be done with a guide.

Snowboarding in Puy-St-Vincent

The slopes of Puy-St-Vincent suit all levels from beginners to advanced, but beware, there are a few drag lifts!

Après ski in Puy-St-Vincent

Little more on offer other than a few bars and restaurants which are available in both villages.

Activities off the slopes in Puy-St-Vincent

For a small resort there are surprisingly quite a few off slope activities including Ice skating, Dog Sleigh rides, Paraponting and perhaps the most popular of events with families, tobogganing. The cinema shows films in English.
