    Chalet Cornillon is a lovely traditional alpine chalet with a rustic mountain feel, offering a simple catered chalet experience in winter and a large self-catering property in summer. It is situated along the legendary road of the tour de France on the 20th hairpin bend of the 21 hairpin bend pass.

    The balcony is south facing offering magnificent views towards Les Ecrins national park. Alpe d’Huez is only a 10-minute walk on a path behind the chalet and you can ski directly from across the road to Huez and back from Alpe d’Huez centre which is a huge benefit.

    The beautiful open plan living, dining and kitchen area makes it feel light and roomy creating a relaxing environment to enjoy your holiday with friends. In addition to this the chalet offers the full Sky TV package including Sky sports as well as free WiFi. The chalet is made up of 4 twin and 1 triple en-suite rooms and two twin rooms with a shared bathroom, sleeping up to 14 in winter and summer.

    There is ample room at the entrance for storing skis, boards, boots, bikes and drying clothes as well as the added luxury of a sauna and hot tub to remove those aches and pains at the end of the day.

    • Cave (Entrance-come-boot Room): Spacious entrance room with lots of room for storing bikes (in summer) and skis/boards in winter. The Sauna is also located in the Cave and there are benches to sit on whilst you ‘de-rig’ from your day's activity!

    • Balcony 2: Southern Balcony, running along the entire southern face of the chalet with the most fabulous view of the valley below. All you can see is the vast countryside, the awesome and famous ‘hairpin bends’ that make up the 21 Hairpin Climb featured in the Tour de France.

    Access to the slopes

    • Ski IN – ski down the BLUE run to within 500 metres of the chalet or down the RED run to within 100m of the chalet.
    • Bus IN – get the Navette (free circular bus) back that stops 100m from the chalet.
    • Ski OUT – walk 500 metres to the BLUE run or walk 150 metres to the RED run and ski down to Huez Village then access the lifts to the upper slopes.
    • Lift OUT – every morning our chalet hosts offer a ‘drop off’ to the quickest lift (the DMC or Marmotte) at 9 am.
    • Bus OUT – get the Navette (free circular bus) that stops 100m from the chalet and takes you to the quickest lift (the DMC or Marmotte).v

    This operator prides themselves on providing a unique catering experience, as seasoned skiers they know how important it is to recharge and refuel after a hard day on the slopes.

    As a result they have put together what they feel provides all the nutritional benefits of a balanced diet and the flavour and taste that leaves you satisfied and energised.

    Their menu has been carefully worked out to provide variety, flavour, balance and familiar meals that all the family can enjoy. All their food is prepared on site using only the best fresh ingredients but without the fuss and limited portion size offered by some other chalets.

    All are meals are child-friendly and they can cater for vegetarians.

    Breakfast comprises of fresh bread, variety of cereals, porridge, fresh fruit and tea and coffee throughout your stay.

    Off the Slopes!

    When you get back from the slopes there will be tea, coffee and biscuits. The three-course evening meal for 6 evenings starts at 7pm to allow you to refuel when you need it most.

    Wine with your meals:

    A local red and white wine is provided with every evening meal, they are careful to select the best local wines from the Savoie region and hope that their wine selections get the same appreciation that they have for them. That’s what makes them unique and why once you visit you’ll not want to go anywhere else.
