Valmeinier and Valloire are perfect for a DIY skiing holiday
5th February 2016
I had a phone call from my friend Frank Baldwin, the editor of the Skier and snowboard magazine, who was very excited as he’d just returned from a skiing break in Valloire. Frank loved the skiing there and asked if we ever sold any holidays there. He thought it was a fantastic ski area and that more British skiers should go! So expect to see an article in the “Skier and Snowboarder” magazine soon!
I skied in Valmeinier and Valloire myself about 4 years ago and thought the same as Frank, more skiers should come here! The problem is that few good British tour operators features them so it has to be DIY ski holiday to get the best deal.

About the ski village of Valloire
Valloire is an all year round resort, thanks to the excellent snow record and that fact the Tour de France normally passes through on its way to the famous Col du Galibier. Because of its two trading periods there are some good hotels and apartments here. It’s perhaps the most famous of all the villages in the Maurienne valley resorts. It has a quiet mountain charm with narrow streets and a lively village square with a 17th century baroque-styled church and pleasant restaurants, shops and bars.
