Club Med Announces A New Ski Hotel In Italy For Winter 2024

The upcoming Club Med resort is set to grace the picturesque San Sicario, conveniently located less than two hours away from Turin. Nestled within the Vialattea area (AKA the Milky Way) of the Italian Alps, this resort follows in the footsteps of the esteemed Club Med Pragelato Resort, which played host to numerous events during the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics.

Designed by the acclaimed architectural firm Chiodin, the resort promises a panoramic spectacle with its 180-degree views over the valley. Boasting a total of 400 rooms, including 25 luxurious suites, the project carries a substantial investment of €110 million. Construction started in 2022, with the grand opening slated for December 2024.

With a commitment to delivering a modern and inclusive experience, the San Sicario resort aims to cater to guests in all seasons. From winter sports such as skiing and snow activities to summer pursuits like Nordic walking and yoga, the resort endeavours to provide a diverse range of recreational options. Indoor amenities include a pool and spa featuring a sauna and hammam. Additionally, guests can embark on guided excursions to explore the scenic surroundings.

Perfectly positioned as a family-friendly destination, the resort plans to offer an extensive array of activities for children, including specialized kids’ clubs catering to various age groups from 4 months to 17 years old.

Beyond the recreational allure, the San Sicario project holds significant economic promise for the region. Anticipated benefits include an annual income boost of €10 million, the creation of 400 direct and indirect jobs, and the engagement of 60 ski instructors throughout the winter season. Come summer, approximately 35 guides will be on hand to assist visitors.

In alignment with contemporary environmental priorities, the resort is also striving for the coveted Breeam certification, underscoring its commitment to constructing sustainable and eco-friendly complexes. The San Sicario Club Med resort is poised not only to become a haven for leisure seekers but also a catalyst for economic growth and environmental responsibility in the region.
