Val d’Isere – Popular Restaurant To Become Europe’s Highest Hotel

22nd September 2017

La Tête de Solaise Restaurant and bar on the site of the Frances oldest cable car station has long been a popular destination for lunches and an après ski drink before dropping down to Val d’Isere.

The oldest cable car station in France, (Tête de Solaise) was built in 1942, we have just heard it is about to be transformed into a 40-bedroom hotel that at 2550m will be the highest hotel in France.

Access in summer will be by road, while in winter the hotel can only be reached by the new Solaise gondola or by snowcat.

Popular restaurant to become Europe’s highest hotelWork will continue on the project over the next year and the scheduled opening date is December 2018. We will be doing our best to secure contact rates on what will be a fantastic location for skiing, a true ski in ski out hotel which will probably be the most snow sure hotel in Europe. We hope to offer the hotel for sale in time for the 2018/19 ski season.

Val d’isere has undergone huge investments in lifts and the re-shaping of the beginner’s slopes. New luxury hotels are planned for the centre of the resort, keeping this world-famous ski resort at the top of many skier’s favourite places to ski.
