Val d’Isere Invests €200m On 900 New Beds

Val d’Isere invests €200m in a new development which will add another 900 tourist beds
Val d’Isere has been our top ski resort since we started the business over 23 years ago, we love it, it’s a ski resort I ski nearly every winter. The newly developed Solaise area transformed the skiing on the Solaise side, particularly for beginners with a new fast lift and reshaping of the nursery slopes to enhance the terrain for early beginners.
The new development, called Le Coin de Val, will have direct access via underground walkways to reach the lifts at the Solaise as well as a new bus terminal connecting to the other lifts of Val d’Isere towards La Daille or on the glacier at La Fornet.
Two new 5* hotels are on the plan, so too are 100’s of new apartments and ski chalets, shops and restaurants. Val d’Isere is very popular with the British market, but with uncertainty over Europe and the current weakening of sterling, we wonder how much demand from British investors looking for a second home in the Alps, will be.
Work is expected to take 5 years to complete but we have been advised the work will not be carried out during the winter months, so it shouldn’t disrupt holiday makers to this world class ski resort.
