1,325km of skiing with the new Alpine Legends ski pass
9th September 2015
I’m always surprised and sometimes a little dis-believing when clients and friends tell me “I skied every run in the 3 Valleys in my week’s stay.” Probably only because I know I couldn’t do it! At 55, I know I’m not the skier I once was and my legs struggle to stand up, let alone ski, once I’ve skied 60km in a day.
So, I have to question why the big three ski resorts of France. (3 Valleys, Espace Killy and Paradiski ) have joined together to offer a 6 day ski pass that covers all three ski areas, after all these are already the three biggest linked ski areas in France.
The new Alpine Legends ski pass will cover an incredible 1,325km of groomed piste. Surely none of my friends or clients will be telling me they skied all 1,325km in a week. I defiantly won’t believe that!
I don’t think many of our Val d’Isere clients will be rushing to buy this new ski pass, even at just €51 more than the cost of the 3 valleys ski pass, why would you need more than the 300km in the Espace Killy ski area or could you be bothered to travel to another ski resort when you’re already in Val d’Isere? I don’t think I could.
However for skiers basing themselves in Borg St Maurice, Ste Foy or Villaroger and who have hired a car, this could be just the ticket!
We think a car is essential to get the most out of the skiing. The three ski areas are in fact very close to each other, in fact with a guide (and a mini bus) it’s possible to ski between Val d’Isere / Tignes and Les Arcs and onto La Plagne with much of the skiing taking you in back country on off piste routes. This is a serious route and should only be tackled with an expert guide!
The price of the Alpine Legends ski pass is €340 and is only €51 more than the full area 3 Valley ski pass. So for less than the cost of a day’s ski pass you have an additional 725km of piste to play on in a week.
Ski Line offer 9 catered chalets and apartments in Ste Foy which would make an ideal choice of accommodation to take advantage of this new ski pass.
