New for 2018/19 ski season in Les Arcs

Les Arcs has moved mud and stones to replace the previous back run (Comborciere) as a new Red run. Gone are bumps and some of the pitch. What’s left, we are told, will be a more enjoyable and less intimidating run of over 2km just below Arcs 1950.

Les Arcs forms part of the Paradiski area linked with La Plagne. 70% of Paradiski's pistes are situated above 2,000m resulting in perfect snow cover for longer and an altitude range of 1,200 - 3,250m... a whopping 425km of pistes...that makes for pretty much perfect skiing!

Les Arcs is made up of 4 main villages, Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 2000 and (Arc 1950, self catered apartments only here, we sell them too!), each number denotes the approx height of the village. In addition are two smaller villages of Vallandry and Plan Peisey which are the most convenient for the link across to La Plagne (Vanoise Express) Our chalets are predominantly in Arcs 2000, Vallandry and Plan Peisey. In addition we have a limited number in the traditional village of Villaroger cross from the ridge above Arc 2000. The chalets in Arcs 2000 are mainly apartment styled chalets, many offer indoor pools. Some offer in-house child care. Our most popular Club Med hotel is also here.

Skiing in Les Arcs

Most of the skiing in Les Arcs is between 1600 and 3250m so it’s very snow sure and most is above the tree line, but in bad weather head for the lower villages towards the La Plagne link where the runs cut through trees and suit all levels. Whatever your ski ability you will find great skiing in Les Arcs. Many of the runs are motorway width, so is ideal for all levels and especially mixed ability groups should consider skiing here.

Beginners skiing in Les Arcs

All of the villages in Les Arcs a have a “Ski Tranquil” area and each has a free lift at weekends. The lack of green runs might put some beginners off, that’s not to say there aren’t any here, just that they have been labelled as blue, but there are plenty of gentle blues, most of which are very wide and ideal for beginners to practise turns and master the basics.

Intermediates skiing in Les Arcs

One of Les Arcs biggest strengths is its variety of great intermediate skiing, from any of the lifts there is a choice of easy or intermediate routes down, making this an ideal choice for groups of varying levels. Some of the reds will thrill, try the woodland runs around Villaroger and down to Plain Peisey. Over 80 of the skiing in Les Arcs are on Blue or Red slopes, what more could you want?

Advanced skiing in Les Arcs

For experts Les Arcs won’t disappoint, there are challenges both on and off piste. Many of the blacks in Les Arcs are now not pisted so by the end of the season have huge mogul fields. It’s the off piste skiing that is the biggest draw for experts, loads of it and snow here lasts longer than in the more macho off piste resorts such as Chamonix where fresh tracks disappear after just a few hours.
