Villars is one of the closest ski resorts to Geneva, this Swiss resort sits on a sunny plateau overlooking the Rhone valley and Portes du Soleil ski area (not connected). The south-facing slopes and low altitude does mean snow can suffer late in the season, however the resort has made huge investments in snowmaking with 50% of the slopes now covered.
Villars slopes are ideal for intermediate skiers, covering around 100km of pistes with a ski range between 115m to 2120m connected by 34 lifts. Advanced skiers will find the slopes don’t have too many challenges but the off-piste skiing is good but with a guide required.
Beginners have a free nursery slope behind the station.
