  • Catered Chalet
  • Sleeps 12
    , nights

Great location – 650m from the lift to Avoriaz 1800. hot tub. all ensuite sleeps 10-12. log burner. anything missing?
Morzine catered Chalet Lanterne is an updated version of our ever-popular former chalets La Roche & L’Isiere. Located next door to the old site and a short distance from the high-speed cable car to snow-sure Avoriaz 1800.

Compared to our former chalets, Lanterne has an extra bedroom sleeping 10-12 in 5 ensuite twin bedrooms. The favoured hot tub request has been fulfilled and the log burner remains. We have added lifts back from the lift and best of all the chalet has an extra permanent team member to take care of the service side of things.

Lanterne was designed as a catered chalet over 3 levels and built-in 2014. The lower level has 3 ensuite twin bedrooms. The second floor an open plan living area. The top floor has 2 larger ensuite twin bedrooms with an extra bed in if needed.

All bedrooms are classically furnished with luxury linen for you to snuggle up in. The living area has comfortable seating and a log burner to create that chalet ambience as you toast in a great day on the mountain and the team prepare your dinner.

Chalet Lanterne is next door to our Chalet Hibou in the Prodain hamlet one lift away from Avoriaz 1800.

Private shuttle, public bus or a short walk.

    We offer a private shuttle service 6 days a week every 15 minutes from 8.30 to 09:15 and from 16:00 – 17:30.
The free frequent public bus, the stop is 200m from the chalet.
A short walk from the chalet to the cable car, guests often choose to walk and warm up their ski legs.
The cable car will then whisk you up to Avoriaz 1800 in less than five minutes. The quickest access in the area!

On the way back you can book a shuttle back with us, ski right down to within a 200m of the chalet or take the bus to within 200m of the chalet.

Prodain has local amenities, Avoriaz has everything you would need from swimming pools to cheese shops

Should you need Morzine can be reached easily by bus which stops at the foot of the cable car. The free frequent bus ride is about 10 minutes. You can also ski to Morzine or a taxi is about €20. On the team’s days off we’ll be sure to chauffeur you back from Morzine to give you the opportunity to try out one of the restaurants there.

Morzine chalet Hibou and Morzine chalet Lanterne are situated next door to each other which means they can be run side by side to sleep up to 24.

    Important Covid-19 refund promise

    This operator understands that the coronavirus pandemic has raised many questions about what happens if your holiday is disrupted by Covid-19. They would therefore like to give you the following reassurance. If up to 10 days prior to your arrival on holiday;

    • You are unable to travel on your holiday due to national government restrictions from your country of residence prohibiting travel to France (e.g national lockdown); or
    • France closes its borders to arrivals from your country of residence; or
    • Upon arrival in France you are required to quarantine; or
    • The ski resort to which your holiday is booked within is closed

You may choose to cancel your booking and we will, at your choice, either issue you with a credit note for 100% of the booking value (valid for 2 years) which can be used against the cost of a future booking with this operator OR a refund of 50% (the amount you have paid us less an administration charge of 50% per person which we will be permitted to retain). The refunded amount will increase if we are able to resell your holiday. The administration charge represents the irrecoverable costs we incur in arranging the services we contract to provide. Please note that credit notes will be issued within 30 days of the start of your cancelled holiday and at the point of acceptance are non-exchangeable for a refund.

    This policy does not apply:

    • To an FCDO, or equivalent from your country of residence, ”advisory against travel “ as this does not affect our ability to provide your contracted arrangements. You should have holiday insurance to cover this.
    • If you cancel your holiday for any other reason than ‘Covid-19 Book with Confidence’;
    • Between 0 and 10 days prior to departure normal cancellation charges apply.

If your accommodation or the resort is closed due to Covid-19.

This operator will offer you an alternative accommodation of a similar or higher standard to that booked.

If they are unable to offer you an alternative, or the alternative they offer you choose not to accept, they will offer you a 100% credit note for the full booking value (valid for 2 years) which can be used against the cost of a future booking with them.

If as a result of the impact of Covid-19, they decide they are unable to provide the catered services you have contracted (for catered accommodation only)

If they cannot offer you catering because, for example, a team member is required to self-isolate you will be refunded £30.00 per person per day and your holiday will become self-catered.

If before you travel or whilst you are away, the obligation to self-isolate or quarantine on your return from your destination country is applied

They are unable to offer you a refund or credit. You should have travel insurance to cover this.

If you are refused entry due to not having the required proof of vaccination or testing

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the required proof of vaccination or testing and failure to comply with any such requirements for whatever reason will be treated as a cancellation by you and normal cancellation charges will apply.

If you go home early, curtail your holiday or quarantine measures come into place mid-way through your holiday

If the operator is unable to offer you a refund or credit note. You should have insurance to cover this.

They cannot accept any guest who:

    • Has tested positive for coronavirus in the 14 days prior to travel
    • Is awaiting the results of a coronavirus test
    • Has had sustained contact with anyone who has either, tested positive in the 14 days prior to travel, or is awaiting the results of a coronavirus test
    • Has a high temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia) or has been in sustained contact with anyone who is experiencing such symptoms
    • Has not received both vaccinations (if eligible) or a negative Covid-19 test result. You may be asked to show proof of this upon arrival. Failure to do so will be treated as a cancellation by you.

For the safety of everyone please do not travel if any of the above applies to you. The operator is unable to offer any form of refund if you cannot travel for any of the above reasons however you can and should insure against them.

Please bear in mind that coronavirus and the measures and other action being taken by governments, public authorities and businesses to manage its effects (including implementation of social distancing) is likely to have an impact on holiday arrangements for a considerable period of time. The operator may, for example, be unable to provide certain advertised services or facilities as a result. Such measures/actions may be introduced or changed with little or no prior notice. Greater flexibility is therefore likely to be required for the foreseeable future which we would ask you to bear in mind at all times, both before and after departure. Any impact which such measures/action has on your holiday arrangements will not constitute a significant alteration to your contracted arrangements and will not entitle you to cancel without payment of the applicable cancellation charges as a result.

You must obtain comprehensive travel insurance as a condition of your booking. Your insurance policy must include cover relevant to travelling during the pandemic.

A copy of the full terms and conditions are available on request.

This operator's greatest achievement every season is the team that they select to run the chalets. More and more they are also now choosing chalet hosts and chefs with prior experience with other companies so they are not learning their trade during your holiday and rather come to serve you with a season’s worth of experience already. They also now recruit head chefs too to cook in their flagship chalet George in Morzine, here they give them a guided carte blanche to tantalise your taste buds.

    Their Standards:

    • To use local/seasonal produce/incorporate local dishes
    • Be interesting dishes that guests would not have at home
    • Look great on the plate
    • Be Nutritious, offer 3 portions of vegetables in the meal
    • Be filling, not too rich and delicious!
    • Have a mass appeal
    • Practicably achievable

    Their Food History

It all started with brother Luke Turner and the legacy he set.

In year one, Luke (an experienced chef and graduate of the catering and hospitality school at Bournemouth University) and Dom ran a chalet together, essentially Luke did the catering and Dom did the service.

In year 2 as demand grew it was clear that they were going to need another chalet and another Luke, so Luke trained Dom and found himself a girlfriend so that he could make an army of little Lukes to run future chalets.

In year 3 Dom ran a chalet with his wife to be (Steph), Luke wrote the menu and they leased a second chalet to provide more. Operation replace Luke with 3 team members began.

Clodagh was their first employee and was awesome. Clodagh ran a chalet in Les Carroz for them taking guidance from Luke’s menu for the catering and Dom for the service. The feedback was monitored, comparing the feedback from when Luke and Dom had ran a chalet and Clodagh’s results. The results were great.

Demand grew again, so how to supply more? A business link was formed with Luke’s catering course and more cooks were sourced allowing for a third chalet, then more and more. This operator is now at a size whereby not only do they source cooks from Luke’s original course, they also now work with some of the best catering schools in the UK and recruiters too.

Luke still sets the menu in their set menu chalets every year. Luke uses local influences on the menu and changes 30% of it every year to keep it fresh for all of their repeat guests.
