When it comes down to it, so much of whether your ski holiday is a classic you remember for the rest of your life or one you’ll quickly forget, is down to just a few key factors, the biggest one of all normally your chalet’s location.
Few are better placed than Chalet Soleil, a popular and cosy chalet located just 30 metres from the main chairlift and slopes up in snow sure Plagne 1800 in the vast Paradiski ski region. The chalet’s lounge has lots of comfy seating around an open log fire and leads to an open plan dining area with a table big enough to eat all guests whilst French doors open on to a large south facing sun terrace overlooking the piste. Chalet Soleil’s five bedrooms include two which can be used as triple rooms (each suitable for up to two adults and a child aged under 13) providing added accommodation versatility.

This operator is a small company with a big wish: for you to enjoy an amazing ski holiday. So put your feet up and them us look after you, taking care of all the cooking and cleaning so you can make the most of your precious time. During your stay in one of their catered chalets, they will serve you hearty breakfasts, tasty homemade cake for afternoon tea and a delicious three-course evening meal each evening for six nights of your stay, all complemented with unlimited bottled wine.
As skiers themselves, they know how important breakfast is to set you up for a good day on the mountain so take your pick from porridge and eggs cooked to order, French bread, preserves, flaky croissants, yoghurt, muesli, cereals and each day a differing cooked option which includes sausages and bacon, fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs with lardons, all served alongside fruit juice and freshly brewed coffee or our specially imported Yorkshire tea.
It’s a favourite chalet tradition, coming back to your chalet at the end of a hard day on the piste to a freshly baked cake along with tea and coffee.
Their menu is freshly prepared to create delicious wholesome dishes that may range from local mountain favourites such as a traditional rich boeuf bourguignon to Loin of pork with caramelised apple and cider all served with delicious accompaniments and seasonal vegetables. They finish with scrumptious desserts such as a classic warming apple crumble or a melt in your mouth chocolate fondant. All of our food is complimented with a choice of handpicked wines supplied by their wine merchant Le Verre Gourmand and finally, they round off the evening with freshly brewed coffee and tea.
Your host will serve their house wine throughout the meal which they have specially chosen to accompany the dishes on their menu. We have a good selection of white and red wines based on their pre-season wine tastings which they do every year plus invaluable feedback that they receive each year from our guests. In addition, when you book the whole chalet you may upgrade to our premium selection please contact us for details.
When you come on a chalet holiday it has always been the case that a menu is cooked for the whole chalet, this enables them not only to make sure that your chalet holiday is great value for money but also helps to keep to any legal regulations regarding maximum working time for our chalet staff.
However, over the past few years, this operator has experienced a huge increase in requests for special dietary requirements, largely due to lifestyle choices for their guests rather than actual medical reasons.
Unfortunately in the Alps ingredients for any special diets are often very expensive compared to the UK and actually many items are difficult/impossible to obtain. In order to keep chalet holidays great value for money for the vast majority of guests, they have now introduced a charge for those requiring anything special such as vegan, gluten free, dairy free etc. This charge will be of £50 per person for this service. Please note that vegetarians will continue to be provided free of charge.
Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared or a minimum of 2 weeks before your holiday and in writing only as our chalet staff ordered all the products and ingredients required for the week ahead in advance. Failure to inform us about dietary issues may result in meals not being available in resort. It is the responsibility of the party leader to inform us of dietary requirements or allergies before your arrival.
It is very important to note that whilst they try their best with regard to food allergies they cannot give a 100% guarantee against any contact with any specified foods. Eggs, dairy products and nuts are constantly present in kitchens and dining areas, so cross-contamination cannot be ruled out, and other guests may bring in products or food containing things like nuts. In addition, chalet staff may not be aware of precise food contents, where they do not speak the language in which the ingredients are labelled. They, therefore, cannot guarantee the avoidance of specified ingredients, and cannot accept liability in the event of any occurrence of an allergic reaction.
Unfortunately group discounts are not available on this chalet, but if you call one of our sales advisors they may be able to offer a chalet where we can offer your group a discount
