When you finally unbuckle your boots, relax in a modern, Scandi-style room built for life on the fells. It's got all the essentials, like a drying cupboard to keep your gear toasty, and most rooms have amazing panoramic views of the national park. If your legs are feeling the burn, head straight for the shared sauna to thaw out or hit the fitness room for a post-ski stretch.

Start your mornings with a massive breakfast buffet - think hot dishes, fresh pastries and all the coffee you need before hitting first lifts. Then, after the sun sets over the fells, you'll sit down to a three-course dinner. Whether it's local Finnish fish or a hearty soup, it's the best way to refuel for another day on the slopes.

Location

Each day, you can easily access the ski lifts via the red Polar 4 slope or the green Skiway slope near the Family Slopes. At the end of the day, you can virtually ski right back to the hotel door on the black-graded Piste Palander slope that runs right alongside the property.

• Confident skiers and boarders can access the lifts and ski school meeting point via a connecting red run. There is also access to the slopes via nearby green runs, which are a short walk away
• Around 1 kilometre to the resort centre, where you can find a well-stocked supermarket and a handful of restaurants (accessible by bus or 15-minute walk)
• The bus stop is just outside the Hotel Pyhatunturi
• Taxis can be arranged for a local fee (approx. €15 each way)
