Horu Lodge (das Horu is local dialect for the Matterhorn) is a beautiful luxury residence that is currently under construction and will be finished at the end of October 2025. Designed by Studio Birk and with interiors by Adelene Smith Ng this stunning Townhouse is a modern design with a personalised finish and evokes a feeling of peace and tranquility in the exclusive Matterhorn village of Zermatt.
There are four beautifully styled king bedrooms with Vi-spring beds, Porto Romana lighting, bespoke Robert Langford bedside tables and headboards and Corston fittings. The box sprung beds can either be made up as super-kings or if preferred can also be made up as twin beds, there are handmade built in birch wardrobes and natural wool carpets with underfloor heating in each bedroom. The bathrooms have Val-stone floors and tadelakt walls, the master bathrooms have a bath, separate shower and WC; the secondary bedrooms have a private bathroom with shower, Cielo sink and cabinet and WC.
The lounge has an open fire, stunning Matterhorn views, South facing balconies, an Oled TV with sound bar and is a lovely space in which to relax and spend time with friends and family, there are smoked oak, herring-bone floors from Trunk, personalised Love you Home sofas, Tom Faulkner consoles and designer furnishings combining to produce a cosy atmosphere in a chic setting. It is spacious, opulent and offers the comfort of a home-from-home. The dining area has a walnut Carl Hansen dining table and chairs that can seat 12 comfortably.
The kitchen is a fully fitted, hand-made, birch-wood kitchen with V Zug appliances, including dishwasher, oven, combi-oven, fridge, freezer, Nepresso and a wine fridge.
Horu Lodge has been luxuriously finished to cater for your every need and each floor can be accessed by an elegant, oak, spiral staircase or by the lift.
There is a communal wellness with swimming pool, swim jet, sauna, steam room, outdoor jacuzzi as well as a small fitness room. We have a massage room where our in-house therapist can offer Swedish massage, Indian head massage, foot or full-body massage as well as manicures, pedicures and facials.
This exquisite lodge is located 100 metres from the Klein Matterhorn Express and has stunning views of the Matterhorn and Höhbalmen.
Below the lodge is the El Alamein and Gerwetsch suites that can be booked singularly or in conjunction with each other and the Tete Blanche Lodge if you require additional bedrooms and are linked with access through the elevator or by stairs. The building on the other side of the lobby has 2 more lodges, Dufourspitz Lodge and Lyskamm Lodge sleeping 10 and 9 guests respectively.
The centre of the village is 8 minutes walk and the Klein Matterhorn Lift is 1 minute walk.
This is a self-catered property with Zermatt Ski Chalets concierge services, pre-arrival fridge fills and a daily bread and pastry delivery service.
