When booking your holiday at Hotel Bardøla, you'll have the option to stay in one of their wooden log cabins. Each cabin is built from solid, laminated timber, and comes with everything you could need for a week in the mountains, including an open-plan living space, a fully equipped kitchenette and four comfy bedrooms. Despite the traditional log cabin exterior, each cabin's interior is modern, with bathrooms having underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove for the perfect evening atmosphere.

One-bedroom superior apartments sleep 1-5 people. These apartments have one twin bedroom, one set of bunk beds in a small sleeping alcove and a sofa bed in the living area. There is a shower room with WC and a fully equipped kitchenette. These apartments also have either a balcony or a terrace.
Log cabins sleep 2-10 people and are around 72-82m2. Log cabins have 4 bedrooms, all with twin beds. 6 beds are found in the loft, which has a lower ceiling than the rest of the cabin, so it is advised that a maximum of 4 adults stay up here. Each cabin has two shower rooms with underfloor heating. There is an open-plan living area and a fully equipped kitchenette. Log cabins also have wood-burning stoves and firewood is provided upon arrival.

Voss Gondola
Head up the Voss gondola and enjoy panoramic views of the mountains surrounding the resort. It is the starting point for ski routes, however, if you don’t ski and are meeting friends and family for lunch then the Hangurstoppen restaurant at the top is a great meeting place.
Swimming at Vossabadet
For an afternoon off of the slopes head to the indoor swimming pool. There are three different pools; a 25 metre long exercise pool with swimming lanes, an obstacle course on the weekends, a dive pool and a third pool heated to 32 degrees. There’s also a sauna and waterslide.
Activity Centre & Bowling
Entertain the whole family at the Voss Bowling. Challenge your friends and family to a game of bowling, play a game of pool or darts, there’s even a variety of board games.
Nærøyfjord Cruise and Flåm Railway from Voss

Thursdays (day trip)
Norway is known for its stunning scenery and dramatic fjords and we’d recommend visiting these during your stay. This fantastic day trip allows you to experience both, taking you on a cruise down one of Norway’s most iconic fjords, followed by a trip on the Flåm Railway – voted as one of the most scenic train routes in the world. Your day will start with a bus trip from Voss to Gudvangen.
Here you’ll jump on one of the electric cruise ships, holding up to 400 people, and slowly make your way down the Nærøyfjord towards the small town of Flåm. The boat trip takes roughly 2 hours, and you’ll be able to soak in all the views, take pictures of the steep mountains and grab a bite to eat from the onboard café. Once docked up in Flåm, you’ll then hop on the Flåm Train for your trip to Myrdal.
Both sides of the train offer fantastic views of snow-capped mountains, frozen waterfalls and deep valleys - you’ll even pass through the mountains in the many man-made tunnels. The train ride to Myrdal takes roughly 45 minutes, and once you arrive, you’ll head back to your resort on a train from Myrdal to Voss.

Tour of the Folk Museum in Voss

If you’d like to learn more about the rich history surrounding Voss, we’d recommend a trip to the Folk Museum. The museum has a range of exhibitions that showcase folk art and history, theme days and activity days and guided tours. You’ll also have the chance to visit some of the remaining cluster farms on site. These include Mølstertunet cluster farm, Nesheimtunet cluster farm and Oppheim Old Vicarage. These farms consist of varying buildings that date back to before the viking era.
The buildings stand on their original sites and provide an authentic experience on the way of living in old Voss.
Indoor Skydiving with Voss Vind

VossVind is Norway’s first vertical, recirculating wind tunnel and gives you the chance to experience skydiving without actually jumping out of an aeroplane. Everyone is welcome at VossVind – the minimum age requirement is 5 years old, and the oldest person ever recorded to fly here was 102 years old!

Snowshoe Adventure in Voss

Snowshoeing on Mount Hanguren is a fun, family-friendly way to explore the winter wonderland above Voss. After a scenic gondola ride to 820 metres, you’ll step straight into crisp mountain air and snowy forests. Whilst your guide leads the way, you may spot animal tracks and there’ll be plenty of opportunities to enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and fjords. Groups are kept small so you get a more personal experience, plenty of time to play in the snow, and the chance to chat with your guide.

Husky Sledding in Myrkdalen from Voss

Make your trip to Voss truly unforgettable with a magical husky sledding experience in Myrkdalen. Once at the dog camp, you’ll learn to “mush” your own sled, setting you up for a fantastic 4-kilometre journey through the Norwegian wilderness. Glide through the winter landscape with your team of dogs, surrounded by stunning views of snowy forests and the frozen Lake Myrkdalsvatnet. Each sled is shared by two people, and anyone over 12 is welcome to try driving.
Remember to bundle up in your warmest clothes—a cosy bonfire and a hot drink will be ready to help you warm up and relax after your adventure.
While the husky sledding takes place in Myrkdalen, getting there from Voss is easy with a ski bus that runs between the two resorts. Catch the bus in the morning, and you can spend a full day in Myrkdalen, giving you plenty of time for both husky sledding and skiing! Then simply catch the bus in the afternoon to head back to your hotel in Voss for dinner.
