St Christina is a jewel in the crown of the dramatic Unesco protected Dolomites. The Val Gardena resorts of St Christina, Selva and Ortisei have direct access to much of the extensive Dolomiti Superski area as well the Sella Ronda. Combining Italian and Austrian traditions, Selva with it’s direct neighbour St Christina is the best known resort in the area where dedicated skiers are spoilt for choise. In Val Gardena, St Christina is in a spectacular setting right next to Selva. Small, smart and sophisticated, St Christina is a real find. This area of Val Gardena was for a long time part of Tyrol Austria and that’s why it has a Tirolean charm. You will hear more the german language than Italian. St Christina with its direct neighbour Selva enjoys the best of Italian and Austrian tradition and is a world-renowned ski area with its mountain peaks set in the spectacular Dolomite Mountains in northern Italy. These mounatins seem to have a life of their own, with dramatic high-rise pinnacles often glowing a soft pink in the early morning and a fiery red at sunset. The scenery is awe inspiring, with incredible views from every vantage point. For sheer beauty this area is hard to beat and, coupled with Selva’s own attractions and facilities, makes a wonderful choice for a ski holiday. Après-ski starts on the mounatin with several fun bars to choose from before the last runs home. In the resort itself après-ski is lively with plenty of fun to be experienced. One café on the main street serves particularly good hand made Italian ice cream. There’s a great choice of restaurants offering both Italian and Austrian specialties. There is night skiing on the Alpe di Siusi at least three nights a week that really needs to be experienced, at least once, by the family together.

    • Best mix of Italian and Austrian tradition
    • Picturesque authentic centre with ancient church
    • Centre with wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants
    • Set in a sunny position surrounded by unique mountain scenery
    • Set in the centre of Val Gardena

Would you like to be the first on the piste or you would like to relax in the morning? You can agree the time of breakfast with the hosts. No worries about the dishes, the hosts will do this for you.

Lunch is not included in your chalet holiday. If you don’t plan to eat in a restaurant on the piste, but on a sunny place in the mountains, you can make a packed lunch for a small charge while you have breakfast. What's better than a dinner party when there is no preparation or washing up! The highlight of every day must be the delicious, innovative and freshly cooked three-course candle dinner prepared and served by your chalet hosts six evenings a week accompanied by local house wines, with coffee and tea to finish.

They are happy to cater for vegetarians and whenever possible for those needing special diets as long as we are notified at the time of booking. Please make sure this appears on your invoice otherwise they will not be able to plan their menus accordingly. Chalet hosts have the advantage of being flexible in their meal preparations. If you have any special dietary requirements, be it a vegetarian option or a special favourite for the kids, we will do our best (within reason!) to accommodate you.

This operator has received many compliments about the dinners. They will cook daily fresh menus every day. So, enjoy your drink while they prepare dinner! Maybe we will surprise you with a local cheese as the tartiflette with Reblochon cheese.

They want all their guests to enjoy their holiday and cooking with passion is very important part of that. Delicious and extensive food is an important part of a successful winter holiday! The hosts will spend a lot of time, care and attention in preparing the meals.

During a drink and a nibble, the hosts will discuss the menu and the dinner times with you. They can change the menu a little depending on your wishes. They can also discuss a special menu for the children. Please let us know and we can discuss the possibilities when we make your reservation. A couple of weeks before your stay you receive the phone number and email address from your chalet hosts if you would like to arrange some things before your arrival.

Because this operator aims to satisfy the preferences of all their guest, they also offer chalets with dinner in a restaurant nearby. In the ‘ski chalets facts’ section of all the chalets you can see if the dinner is in the chalet or in a restaurant. For sure, the breakfast is always in the chalet, so never in a restaurant. If the dinner is in a restaurant, this will be à la carte, based on a selected menu or standard. The drinks during the dinner are not including in the price. When you are back in your chalet, the drinks are included of course!

Please note that dinner and the cooked breakfast option are not available during the chalet hosts' day off when you will have the opportunity of eating at a local restaurant. Chalet hosts will be happy to give you information about the many wonderful local restaurants available in each of the resorts and to book a table for you.

Special menu and flexible dinner times for children

In almost all this operator's chalets, the chalet hosts will prepare dinner for all the group together. They can make a separate menu for the children. Naturally, if you have booked a whole chalet for your exclusive use, the choice of dining separately or together is entirely up to you. If you choose for the first option, it is a nice thought that you could relax during dinner while the children are sleeping in your own chalet safety and nearby.
