It’s all about packing in the ski time at the Turan, a hotel perched just above the resort with fab views across the town and Vallée Blanche ski area. You’re only a minute’s walk away from the Village 1800 chairlift, so after filling up on your go-to slope fuel at the breakfast buffet each morning, you can speedily reach the Crêtes sector of the mountain to kick off your first runs of the day.
All of the twin rooms here are cosy, modern spaces that come with Smart TVs – just the trick for solo skiers or groups of up to four. For your post-piste hangout, head to the hotel’s snazzy cocktail bar. With its pool table, comfy lounge seating and inviting atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to swap slope stories over a tasty tipple. Or for an extra treat, book out the wellness area for you and your group – the 6-person hot tub, hammam and sauna make it a top-notch wind-down zone.
When your mind’s once again on food, you have a few dinner options. You can dine à la carte in the hotel, go to one of the three restaurants close by, or venture down to the lively main strip to explore all the resort has to offer.
For beginners, a shuttle bus to the ski school meeting point will be organised for the first couple of days – then a bus can be taken to the main square in front of the Jandri Express gondola, after which it is a 5-minute walk. For intermediates, walk for 5 minutes to the Champame drag lifts, ski the green run across to the bottom of the Jandri Express, then walk 5 minutes to the ski school meeting point.
You will be dropped off in a multi-story car park at level -1 of the hotel. There is a lift that takes you up to reception.
All rooms are non-smoking and have a Smart TV with English channels, tea and coffee-making facilities, fridge, hairdryer and safe.
