Our Star Arctic Northern Lights Discovery packages are a perfect short break for couples and families wanting a holiday surrounded by snowy wilderness, with unique polar activities included. This is the only property in Saariselkä where you can choose from a 3 night short break from Tuesday to Friday or a longer 4 night break from Friday to Tuesday and enjoy the beauty of untouched Lapland whilst experiencing once-in-a-lifetime excursions.

Food & Drinks

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the Restaurant Kaunis, located in the main building, just a short walk away from the accommodation.

Each morning you can enjoy a varied continental breakfast buffet with a range of hot options with a view of the Kaunispää fell. The buffet often features a range of local produce from the region, as well as Finnish delicacies.

Lunch is served at the Restaurant Kaunis, if you are on an excursion over lunchtime you will have lunch at the Wilderness Restaurant.

Dinner includes a three course evening meal, the menu is influenced by Lappish ingredients and often includes local meats, fish from Lake Inari and arctic berries from the region.

Room Types

Scenic View Suites are around 27m² and sleep two to four people. These suites are set across two floors, with either twin beds or one double bed on the upper floor, which is reached by a steep stair ladder, and a double sofa bed on the lower floor. There is a large scenic window where you can look over the Arctic landscape.

Scenic View Suites with Sauna are around 36m² and sleep two to four people. These suites are single level, with either twin beds or one double bed and a double sofa bed. These suites also benefit from having a private sauna and a kitchenette, in addition to a large scenic window overlooking the arctic landscape. Please note that two of these rooms are duplex. Aurora Glass Cabins are around 21m² and sleep two adults and two children (under 11 years old). The glass igloos are on one floor and have either two twin beds or one double bed, plus a roll-out bed. Above the bed in the cabin is a three-panel glass design roof. These rooms are on request, please give our Reservations team a call to book.

Aurora Sauna Suites are around 35m² sleeping two adults and two children (under 11 years old). Each suite has a double bed with views over the fell, a double sofa bed, a private sauna and a bathtub. Benefitting from floor to ceiling windows you can admire the arctic landscape and starry skies from your suite. These rooms are on request, please give our Reservations team a call to book.

Please note that all suites and cabins are located in separate detached buildings which are less than 100 metres from the main building.
