Why Ski in Fernie?

Fernie has for many years been popular with skiers from Alberta and British Columbia and now its reputation has reached the British too.  The village of Fernie is couple of miles from the lift station which are connected via local bus.  The town its self is rather unremarkable but convenient. It’s the skiing and the great snow that’s the draw here. Many of the slopes remain un-pisted and while this may put some off, it’s for the reason for choosing Fernie for many.

Snowboarding in Fernie

With an average snowfall of 875cm a season it is well worth checking out what’s on offer. Freeriders just wont know where to look – so head for Cedar Bowl and then onto the Cruiser for a wind down. Freestylers can launch the natural hits or ride the newly expanded terrain park located on Falling Star – not one unhappy face here!

Après ski in Fernie

The Griz bar is highly recommended and can get quite lively at the end of the day but everywhere in resort seems to get quiet preety early so this may not be the perfect resort for you party animals out there. There are a number of restaurants in Fernie and the ‘beavertail lodge’ is highly recommended
