The Hotel Residenz Hochland is a bit of a skiers dream - it's right on the Geigenbühel slopes so in the mornings you could be out getting started on some laps before everyone else. The main Rosshütte slopes are a bit further - although the ski bus runs from the bottom of the local slopes to make it easy to explore. Being on the piste, the views are pretty awesome - looking out over Seefeld's valley. And it's only a few minutes' walk to the centre of town for your après fix or a spot of shopping.

The food is a pleasing mix of local cuisine and international favourites - and the chefs are more than happy to cater for vegetarians and special dietary requirements - just let them know in advance. If you don't fancy heading out after dinner then there's a relaxed piano bar and lounge with open fireplace.

Decor-wise the Hochland is fairly traditional - lots of natural wood and knick-knacks gathered over generations, highlighting the history of the region - but with plenty of modern elements thrown in too. Also the rooms are very spacious and the vast majority have a balcony or terrace. The service is friendly and welcoming - it's all about feeling relaxed. And to help with that, there's an excellent wellness centre for some chill-out time and perhaps a massage. Afterwards you could take a dip in the indoor pool.

Austrian twin beds

Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated.
