Ski Holidays in Fugen

The terrain here features wide summit slopes and wooded valley runs, ideal for those who prefer easy-going and scenic skiing. With a fun slope for kids and few crowds, it’s perfect for family ski days. The area spans three mountains, with Onkeljoch peak being the local favorite. A gondola ride from the edge of the village takes you right there. For more diverse pistes and terrain, a free bus can take you to the larger Hochfügen and Kaltenbach areas.

Off the slopes, Fügen is a relaxed village known for its traditional guesthouses and welcoming, family-run hotels. The après-ski scene is quiet, with just a few bars. Instead, evenings are spent enjoying the hotel spa and winding down with a nightcap at the hotel bar.

For some off-slope fun, head to the Erlebnistherme Zillertal waterpark. It offers waterslides, splash pools, and fountains for the kids, along with plenty of saunas for the adults. It’s the ultimate destination for family-friendly activities.

Why Ski in Fugen?

One of the resorts in the Austrian ski area of Zillertal Superski is Fugen, a pretty ski resort with accommodation such as bed and breakfast hotels, half board hotels and self catered apartments.

The resort itself offers 40km of cross country skiing, served by 19 lifts, but with access to the whole Zillertal Superski area, around 450km can be explored. The ski areas directly surrounding Fugen are Spieljoch and Hochfugen, and skiing in these areas can be as high as 2500m. With the ski area being quite high, good snow conditions can generally be expected.
