Beginners skiing in Soldeu

Soldeu is a perfect place to learn to ski; the nursery slopes are located away from the village so it requires a lift pass to access the lifts, beginner’s passes are available at around €25 per day. The ski school at Soldeu has a very good reputation. Once the basics have been mastered there are many easy run to progress to. Getting back down to the village is reached by tree lined blue runs, if you don’t fancy that then the lift back down is always an option.

Intermediates skiing in Soldeu

Soldeu is a very good choice for intermediate skiers and boarders as the choice of suitable runs is excellent. Many of the red and black runs have steep sections preceded by flatter sections which are ideal for those looking to build confidence. For the more nervous intermediates try the blue run in the Canillo/El Forn sector, it’s always empty and has great views from the ridge down to Arinsal and joins on to an easy black down to the valley floor.

Advanced skiing in ski resort Soldeu

It’s the off-piste skiing that will be the major draw for advanced skiers in Soldeu. The only real challenging black run is Avet, but many of the others would be graded as reds in other resorts. When fresh snow has fallen the bowl above Riba Escorxada is always fun. The off piste snow tends to stay good weeks after fresh snow has fallen as most visitors here stay on the piste.

Snowboarding in Soldeu

This resort is up and coming for snowboarding and offers a terrain park with half pipe and jumps as well as some good off piste opportunities.
