This is Brazil for nature lovers. Trancoso is located south of Salvador de Bahia, off the beaten track. Perched on a sublime clifftop overlooking a vast, magnificent beach, this holiday Resort has something for all ages and tastes.

Tennis and flying trapeze are two of the family activities offered at Club Med, and golfers have a heavenly course close by, with a perfect panorama overlooking the sea.

Whether you’re lounging by the pool, on your way to the Boutique or restaurant, you can stop off at our spacious main bar for drinks and light snacks. Cigar humidors are available at extra cost, and smokers are free to use the terrace.

The Nightclub bar

Let loose after a super day on the golden sands at Trancoso’s nightclub bar. There’s a great choice of cocktails, so enjoy your night!

Beach bar

No need to leave the golden sands as our inviting beach bar provides the ideal spot to relax with family and friends. Enjoy a refreshing drink and relax in style.

This tradtional style buffet restaurant at the centre of the Resort has a thatched roof and plenty of local colour. It welcomes you for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a wide selection of international dishes. Smoking is not permitted. Tables sit 4 to 8 people and high chairs are available for babies.

The Lua

With its intimate and elegant atmosphere, table service and magnificent setting, this speciality restaurant is open in the evenings only for a delightful end to your day with family or friends. Booking is required, at Reception. Tables sit 2 to 8 people, and high chairs are available for babies.

• Trancoso is 6 km from the Resort.

Trancoso has preserved its authenticity, with a charming main square, a UNESCO heritage site, overlooking some of the finest beaches – Nativos, Coqueiros and Petra Grande are all nearby. The historic centre has preserved traces of its colonial history; it has colourful houses and a white church looking out over the ocean.

Travel time: a 15-minute drive

• Arraial d’Ajuda is 8 km from the Resort.

The town is perched on the clifftops, surrounded by the Mata Atlantica and numerous beaches – Praia Mucuge, Do Parracho, Piting and d’Ajuda …. It is renowned for its fountain, its church built in 1549 (one of Brazil’s first Catholic churches) and the charming Mucuge Street.

Travel time: a 25-minute drive

• Porto Seguro is 45 km from the Resort.

A very popular seaside resort with superb beaches. This is where the lambada comes from, and where Brazil was discovered, on 22 April 1500 by Pedro Alvares Cabral and his Portuguese expedition. There are many things of interest including the remains of Brazil’s first town; the cidade alta has national monument status, with 3 churches to visit. There are many beaches.

With the benefit of over 40 years’ Club Med experience behind it, our Resort proposes innovative clubs for children and teenagers:

Dedicated areas specifically designed for their needs, and equipment designed with a view to comfort and safety. In bungalows inspired by the native Indian huts, the children (aged 2 to 3) discover the rich flora and fauna of the region in a fun way.

To be sure your children’s holiday experience is as unique as yours, we’ve devised a Club Med tailored just for them!

Run by experienced G.O®s, Petit Club Med® proposes a host of different activities for all age groups – creative, artistic, active and fun.

The children explore and discover talents and friendships in an environment made to measure.

At Petit Club Med®, our G.O®s cater to their needs all day long, with a children’s lunch menu and specially devised evening activities.

Nappies and baby milk are not provided by Petit Club Med®.

Places are limited, so we advise you to book early!

We’ve done everything in our power to ensure the comfort and well-being of parents and babies.

Personal welcome, baby-care material available in your room and/or in the baby feeding and equipment room (cot, baby bath, high chair on request, bottle-warmer), sweet and savoury baby foods, baby corner equipped to prepare babies’ meals, high chairs and/or booster cushions in the restaurant.

Spare pushchairs are also available if required.

Open 24 hours a day and equipped with all the utensils for preparing babies’ meals: blender, steriliser (only on request), microwave, refrigerator, bottle warmer (provided in the room for all GM®s who have reserved the Baby Club Med® or Club Med Baby Welcome®), plus additional products such as mineral water, fruit, long-life milk (baby formula milk is not provided).
