Why choose St Cristina

St Christina is a small village at 1450m connected to the 1220km Dolomites ski circuit and is very close the better known village of Selva in the Italian Alps. Better known to Ski Sunday viewers as Val Gardena.

Skiing in St Cristina

Beginners skiing

Meet with the ski school and get straight onto the nearest slopes to the village. There’s a plentiful supply of flattering blue runs in the surrounding area that will give you plenty to do once you fly the nest of the nursery slopes, located just outside the resort centre.

Intermediate skiing

Another Sella Ronda gem to be savoured. The lift systems ensure that you are catapulted straight into breathtaking blues and reds that surround Selva and beyond the Sella gruppe.

Mile after mile of well groomed slopes call out to be skied each day, taking you to a new restaurant every day for lunch on the sunny slopes.

Advanced skiing

Although the surrounding slopes of Val Gardena are generally fairly flattering reds and blues, there is a World Cup downhill course open to the public when there is not a race on. For those wanting to put some miles under their skis, head over towards Arabba where you can ski the famous Marmolada Glacier on the generally more challenging slopes of Portavescovo.

Snowboarding skiing

The modern lift system is particularly boarder friendly with all the main lifts out of resort being either chairs or gondolas. The pistes on the whole are wide and above the trees, and draglifts are minimal. The Sella Ronda does have one or two flatter sections that might require a short walk between lifts.

Family ski holidays in St Cristina

The ski school will take children from 5 years upwards, while there is a child care service that is run locally for children from 1-11 years of age. Please call for further details.

Après ski in St Cristina

St Cristina is a little more subdued than Selva, with not as huge a choice of après venues, but with some very pleasant bars and cafés to go to. If you need to party, there is always the notorious Hotel Wolkenstein après-ski parties in one of its three bars to enjoy!
