Hotel Ormelune Val d’Isere, France
Right in the heart of Val d'Isère's original village, you'll find Hotel Ormelune - a family-run hotel that's unique in all the right ways. Named after the nearby mountain, the hotel ditches the standard resort look for bold, imaginative décor and a vibe that's more fun than your average hotel. It's the perfect alternative if you want a base that’s as impactful as the surrounding mountains.
The location is a total win. Look north, and you're right above the village, buzzing with all its shops, bars and restaurants. Look south, and you've got front-row seats to the Face de Bellevarde, the famous Olympic run that looks incredible from dawn until dark. Plus, the ski area is only a short walk away, so you can spend less time planning and more time on the slopes.
The quirky style continues with the hotel's art. Taking a page out of the famous US "Cow Parade", Hotel Ormelune decided to start its own collection of "French" cows. They reached out to artist JonOne, who jumped headfirst into what he called "Mission Cow". Jon and three of his friends each designed a cow sculpture in their own signature style, adding a massive splash of colour and personality to the place.
Hotel Ormelune is offered on a bed and breakfast basis with the option to upgrade to a half board.
Start your day with a breakfast buffet served from 7am to 10am.
If you've decided to take the stress out of meal time with the half board upgrade, dinner is served between 7pm and 9:30pm. Along with the main menu, you’ll find daily specials every evening, offering plenty of ways to refuel after a day on the slopes. Think hearty burgers, creamy risottos, and - of course - classic melted cheese paired with charcuterie, potatoes and salad.
The restaurant closes for lunch, giving you the perfect excuse to explore the local cafés and mountain restaurants scattered around the resort.

Small rooms are around 19m² and sleep two people. These rooms have twin beds, a shower room and village views.
Medium rooms are around 21m² and sleep two people. These rooms have twin beds, a bathroom and village views.
Large rooms are around 29m² and sleep two people. These rooms have twin beds, a bathroom and a south-facing balcony with views of the slopes.
Suite XL+Children are around 42m² and sleeps two adults and two children up to ten years old. These rooms have a double bedroom and a cabin room with bunk beds. There is also a living room, bathroom and village views.
Hotel Ormelune does not have rooms adapted for wheelchair use.
