Kranjska Gora Ski Resort Guide

Why Ski in Kranjska Gora?

Slovenia’s most well known and main ski resort Kranjska Gora is set in beautiful surroundings within the Zgornjesavska Valley, alongside the Julian Alps. Located near to the Italian and Austrian borders, it makes for a great Alpine ski resort.

Known for its winter sports and World Cup races, Kranjska Gora has a variety of runs totalling 30km. There’s also 40km of cross country trails to explore if you want to admire the scenery. At an altitude of 809m and skiing up to 1570m, it’s perhaps not as high as a lot of resorts in the Alps, but the snow conditions are still good with lots of snow making across the pistes.

All the skiing is done on the Vitranc Mountain which is served by 14 drag lifts and 4 chair lifts. The majority of the accommodation in Kranjska Gora is in half board hotels, some located slope side and some towards the centre of town. All are convenient for access to the slopes.
