Why Ski in Valfrejus?

Valfréjus offers over 65km of pistes suitable for all levels of skier. Snowboarders, off-piste-enthusiasts and cross-country skiers are also catered for. Other features include a snowpark and 18 snow canons.  An upgrade to the Eski-mo ski pass at a cost of around £27 allows skiing in Aussois, La Norma, Bonneval sur Arc and Val Cenis brings the total skiable area up to 300km. The additional ski areas are connected by bus, but car hire is suggested.

At Ski Line we consider the resort of Valfrejus to be an ideal resort for those on a budget and particularly families where the whole family ski together either all day or with lessons in the morning and skiing together in the afternoon. All of the skiing is above 1550m up to the highest point of 2737m so its snow sure from early in the season to the end in mid April.

Valfrejus is located at an altitude of 1.550 m in the Savoie Alps, near the Italian border. The friendly village, offside from the mass tourism, can easily be explored and has a special charm. The centre is built like a horseshoe around the broad end of the valley descent. So most of the sun terraces of cosy bars and cafés can easily be reached with skis on. Apart from that, approx. 10 restaurants are waiting to spoil you with French, Italian and local specialities. In the resort centre you’ll find a multi-purpose sports field, which, depending on the season, is used for skating, hockey, football and basketball. More sensational attractions are paragliding and heliskiing. Besides, the tour guide offers you an attractive programme, e.g. a snow-BBQ, a fondue or raclette-dinner or a pub tour.

Valfrejus is just across the valley from the famous 3 Valleys ski area, so has the same reliable snow. It part of the popular Maurienne Valley which is on the France/Italian border.

The ski area offers 65km of piste so by some French resorts is limited, but in addition there are many options for off piste skiing in most cases just off the piste edge, so quite safe! The runs themselves offer 28km of green/blue, 33km of red runs and 4km of Black runs. Making it ideal for beginners to early intermediate skiers. Valfrejus has 13 lifts, 6 T-bars/button lifts, 5 chair lifts and 2 cable cars.
