Prestige Apart’Hotel L’Eclose Alpe d’Huez, France
If being near the slopes is top of your priority list, you'll love this hotel. It's in the same building as the Prestige Résidence L'Éclose, near the Alpe Express gondola, which makes getting onto the mountain every day easy-peasy. The centre of town is a little further away, but you can hop on the local buses for free with your lift pass that'll get you there in no time. And it's a 15-minute walk to our Childcare clubs at the Hotel Les Bergers.
Inside, the décor's alpine with an industrial twist. Open fireplaces and comfy seating areas give it a cosy, mountain feel, contrasting with concrete walls and sleek tiles which give the place a sophisticated feel. And big, floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby let in plenty of light and a top view of the slopes, so it's the perfect spot to enjoy an après-ski hot choc. The heated indoor pool is a real highlight – the pale blue bottom and mountainscape on the wall make you feel like you're swimming in mountain springs.
A stay here means you'll get your room only, with no meals included. Instead, head into Alpe d'Huez to enjoy something tasty at one of the local restaurants. There are lots to pick from, with everything from cheesy fondue to burgers and even sushi on the menu.
All rooms are non-smoking and have a flatscreen TV, hairdryer, fridge and tea and coffee-making facilities.
When you arrive, you’ll need to pay a deposit of approx. 500 by credit or debit card for each room on your booking.
Double room (approx. 23m²) - sleeps 1-2: Twin or double bedroom, private bath, WC and balcony.
Junior suite (approx. 32m²) - sleeps 1-4: Double bed, extra double sofa bed in living area when booked for three or four, private bath, WC and balcony.
Suite (approx. 49m²) - sleeps 1-6: Double bedroom, twin or double bedroom, extra double sofa bed in living room when booked for five or six, private bath, WC and balcony.
Please note, all rooms have a kitchenette but no cooking facilities.

Our Pepi Penguin Nursery (6 months-3 years) and Beanie Bear Club (3-8 years) are based in the Hotel Les Bergers. You can book places in these childcare clubs if you stay in the Hotel Le Pic Blanc, Hotel Le Chaix, Prestige Apart'Hotel L'Éclose, Prestige Résidence L'Éclose, Daria-I Nor Apartments, Daria-I Nor Hotel, Le Castillan Hotel or Le Petit Prince. All Childcare is at an extra charge and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place.
Pepi Penguin Nursery (6 months - 3 years) is run by our team of Childcare professionals and held in a dedicated room in the hotel equipped with games and toys. Outdoor play included (weather and parental consent permitting).
Activities vary daily. We'll find time for stories, singing, arts and crafts including painting and collage making, plus messy play in the sand tray and free play with age-relevant toys set out for the children to choose what they want to do.
We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe snowy walks, a gondola ride or snow painting. And if your child is used to a sleep, we'll factor that in too.
Beanie Bear Club (3-8 years) provides plenty of fun-filled days as our childcare staff offer a combination of care and skiing, which includes 6 x morning ski lessons, pick-up and drop-off from ski lessons, lunch and either full-day or half-day care by staff in the dedicated Beanie Bear Club room.
* Lift passes aren't included as each child's needs are different. If and when your child feels confident enough to use the lifts, you'll need to buy a lift pass locally.
Activities vary daily – to include games, arts and crafts and storytime – and are often based around a theme.
We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe bus bingo, snowman competitions or a treasure hunt.
Both Pepi Penguin Nursery and Beanie Bear Club run for 6 days and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place.
