Igls is a micro ski resort which forms part of the larger Olympia Skiworld area, which totals 295km of pistes. The local Igls skiing covers just 18km, 10km of Blue and 8km of reds with the local ski range from 860m to 2247m. The larger ski area has skiing up to 3150m.
The biggest draw of skiing in Igls is its location to Innsbruck, which is just 5km away and the fact that twice a week buses connect to the Stubai Glacier and Axamer Lizum (require the full area ski pass) adds to the draw.
Igls is an ideal place to learn to ski, or for those who just a few runs are enough excitement. It's not recommended for either advanced skiers or snowboarders.
The location to Innsbruck means it’s an ideal destination for non-skiers too. With winter walks, snowshoe, ice skating all in addition to activities available in Innsbruck.
