Arinsal is an excellent ski resort in Andorra, sitting on high sided mountains with attractive tree-lined runs, linked to Pal and the village of La Massana, with which it shares its ski area. The skiing is between 1550m and 2560m and covers 63 km of pistes serviced by 30 lifts, so high enough to stay snow-covered throughout the winter, particularly as most of the skiing is above 1950m.
The skiing in Arinsal is best suited to beginners and lower level intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Better intermediate skiers may find the ski area too small for a weeks ski holiday. Experts won’t find Arinsal steep or big enough. The nursery slopes are wide and gentle, a great place to learn. Once the basics are mastered the progression slopes are excellent.
Arinsal often attracts a younger crowd, looking for good value and lively bars, something Arinsal does well. The slopes are child-friendly as children can’t stray too far out of sight. The ski schools here have an excellent reputation.
