The great news for skiers booking ski chalets in France over the half term week for departures on the 11th February 2018, is that it doesn’t clash with the French half term! So you can expect fewer skiers on the slopes, great availability of ski instructors, shorter lift queues and quicker journey times from the airport to the mountains. Hooray!
However, for skiers travelling from the north of the UK, it looks like your school dates will be the 18th February and your dates will clash with the French school holidays! You might like to consider travelling over the Easter school holiday dates instead, and as Easter is so early in 2018, the snow will still be great.
We understand the French half terms will be running from the 18th February to the 4th March, with the busiest week being when the Paris schools close on the 17th!
Demand for half term skiing holidays always outstrips supply so early booking is essential to secure the best ski chalets.
It’s worth noting that the rest of Europe don’t have a half-term holiday in February, so by booking a ski chalet in the Swiss, Italian or Austrian Alps, you can avoid the crush in France, the bad news is that most ski chalets are in France, so you need to book early to secure one of our non- French ski chalets.
