If you’re looking for a ski-in/ski-out chalet, you already know the appeal of clicking into your skis and heading straight for the lifts. The real question is where to find the best options.

Start with France. Purpose-built resorts such as Tignes, Val Thorens, Les Arcs and La Plagne were designed around slope access, creating some of the largest concentrations of ski-in/ski-out accommodation in the Alps. If a client tells us they’re looking for true doorstep skiing, Tignes is often our first suggestion, simply because it offers so much choice across different budgets and group sizes. Val Thorens, meanwhile, is a great choice for its unrivalled access to the vast Three Valleys ski area.

Looking further afield, resorts such as Verbier offer a more traditional Alpine atmosphere, although ski-in/ski-out properties can be harder to find. And if convenience matters more than whether the accommodation is technically a chalet, all-inclusive ski-in/ski-out resorts such as Club Med are well worth considering.
