Why choose Konigsleiten

Königsleiten blends traditional Austrian charm with doorstep skiing. Set beneath the wooded slopes of the Königsleitenspitze, this compact village puts lifts and runs just moments from your accommodation. With access to the 150km Zillertal Arena, varied terrain and a peaceful atmosphere after dark, it’s ideal for skiers who want convenience, character and a good night’s sleep before another day on the mountain.

Wooden chalets, family-run hotels and an old village church add to the postcard-perfect feel, while the small size of the resort makes getting around effortless.

Skiing in Konigsleiten

Königsleiten sits right in the heart of the 150km Zillertal Arena ski area. Fast, modern lifts connect you easily to neighbouring villages and a wide mix of terrain, from scenic tree-lined runs to open, cruising pistes. You’ll also find fun slopes and snow parks dotted across the area, giving plenty of variety throughout the week.

With reliable snow throughout the main December to April season, January is often a sweet spot for fresh snowfall and fully open valley runs, while March and April bring longer, sunnier ski days.

Beginners skiing

Learners are well looked after here. A nursery area sits right in the centre of the village on a gentle meadow, making it easy and unintimidating for first-timers. The convenient layout means beginners can progress without venturing far from their accommodation, building confidence before exploring further into the Zillertal Arena.

Intermediate skiing

Intermediates are particularly well catered for. The red runs on the Königsleitenspitze above the village offer long, confidence-boosting descents with plenty of space to find your rhythm. From here, you can explore further afield across the wider Zillertal Arena, enjoying a mix of cruising runs and scenic routes linking neighbouring resorts.

Advanced skiing

Stronger skiers can head higher up the mountain to tackle the steeper red runs and more challenging terrain across the Zillertal Arena. The varied landscape offers plenty of opportunities to test your technique, especially on the higher slopes where gradients become more demanding.

Snowboarding

Boarders benefit from the varied terrain across the Zillertal Arena, with wide pistes ideal for carving and dedicated snow parks for freestyle riders. The efficient lift system keeps queues to a minimum and makes exploring the full area straightforward.

Cross-country skiing

The surrounding region offers scenic cross-country trails that wind through snowy forests and open landscapes. It’s a peaceful way to explore the area beyond the alpine pistes, with well-maintained tracks suitable for different ability levels.
