Boutique Hotel Die Alpbacherin Alpbach, Austria
For a ski hotel that feels more than a little premium, Die Alpbacherin delivers. Head to toe this timber-clad, chalet-style stay brings the charm – with elegantly designed rooms and modern spaces that have an alpine-chic finish. The heated infinity pool takes top spot for coolest feature. Set in a wooden frame on a top-floor balcony with views out to the surrounding peaks, it’s mountain luxury at its best.
The hotel’s a quick stroll into Alpbach’s pretty village centre. There’s a nursery slope close by, but mostly you’ll be hopping on the bus for a quick five-minute journey to the slopes. Once your ski day’s over and you’re back at base, stash your gear away in the boot room and switch to wind-down mode. Flit between the sauna, pool and relaxation room of the wellness area – while little ones can busy themselves in the play area. Then it’s a delicious cocktail from the bar before settling in for your evening feast.
The Alpbacherin takes pride in its food sourcing and quality. Plenty of what you’ll taste in the gourmet 6-course evening menu and lavish breakfast spreads coming from its own farm – from meat and veg to yoghurt, milk and pasta. With its feel-good food, top-notch facilities and family-friendly atmosphere, you’re in for a memorable stay that goes way beyond the skiing.
All rooms are non-smoking and have a flatscreen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, telephone and safe.
Double room with balcony (approx. 20-25m²) – sleeps 2-4: Double bed, extra double sofa-bed when booked for three or four, private shower, WC and balcony.
Cots are available to hire, free of charge, on request.

Tourist Tax
In some resorts, you’ll need to pay a small fee called a ‘tourist tax' at your accommodation, either when you check in or check out.
These taxes can change at short notice, so it’s always worth checking the latest details before you travel.
Good to know: Not all accommodation accepts card payments for taxes, so you may need to pay in cash instead. For some countries, tourist taxes are calculated based on an accommodation's official rating, which can be different to its rating on our/the operators site.
