Val Cenis is located in the Maurienne valley in France at 1400m with a ski range between 1400m and 2800m it offers 80km of piste serviced by 20 lifts.
The main village are Lansiebourg and Lansievillard with lifts departing from both and criss cross the valley between. The main gondola departs from Lansievillard. Above the mid station the runs are mainly open and above the tree line, below the mid station there are some pretty tree lined runs.
Most of the run face north so tend to hold their snow well through out the season, good snow cannons cover the lower homeward runs.
Ski Line offers self catered apartments and hotels, we only have a limited selection of catered chalets so early booking is recommended if you want a chalet.
Val Cenis has a number of lively bars and a disco open until late, the night life is quieter than in many French ski resorts.
Val Cenis has an indoor swimming pool, free cross country runs, dog sledging, a 900m long sledging run, great for children. There is also ice skating and bowling great for bad weather days.
For beginners the tree line runs on gentle greens are perfect once the basics have been mastered on the villages nursery slope. Progression blue slopes are well within the reach of most by the end of a weeks lesson. There are 9 green runs and 18 blue.
There is some great vertical drops the longest being some 1400m and is there are some ideal cruising to be found for all levels of intermediate skier and snowboarders. The vast majority of the runs are designed with intermediates in mind. Val Cenis is a good choice for all intermediates who prefer smaller ski areas.
There are 5 black runs in Val Cenis and 23 reds so plenty to keep most advanced skiers happy. The off piste skiing is limited but when the snow is good can be very good, but generally this is a resort for beginners and intermediates rather than experts.
Boarders are well catered for in Val Cenis, there is a snow park and boarder cross, but you should note that 11 of the 27 lifts are drag lifts. The off piste is very good after fresh snow fall.
