Chalet Ariane

Tignes, France
  • Catered Chalet
  • Sleeps 12
    , nights

Ski-in/ski-out chalet in the highest, extended, finest and most snow sure ski domain in France. For winter 2019-2020 a new beginners lift has been built next to the chalet with nursery slopes, so children and beginners can also enjoy ski-in/ski-out. In the summer of 2018 ski access couldn’t be better with the brand new gondola from the doorstep of the chalet. The ski area at the chalet is also a off-piste walhalla. The chalet is right in the centre of the charming mountain village of Tignes Les Brévières with the ski hire shop, ski school, restaurants, shops and après-ski on the doorstep. Many years there is once a week the market stall opposite the chalet of Monsieur Lino offering local produce and delicacies as fromages de Reblochon, Beaufort d’Alpage, Tome des Bauges, charcuterie, Diots (Savoyard sausages), rilletes, patés, le Farçon. Chalet Ariane recently underwent a total renovation with one of the most stylish and tasteful of makeovers. The sumptuous fabrics adorning the bedrooms, the smart, modern bathrooms and the inspired use of traditionally crafted furnishings throughout have transformed this stone building into a now highly desirable chalet. It has its original charm but also offers a modern accommodation like under-floor heating featured throughout the chalet, with individual controls in each room. The six bedrooms have almost all its own full en-suite bathroom with shower or bath, WC, basin and all have a new flatscreen TV with English Freeview. The living and dining room has comfortable seating around a log fireplace and a flatscreen TV. There are boot dryers/warmers and a ski locker. Park your car for free in front of the chalet or on the free parking spot at 75m. Your chalet staff live out, so your privacy is completely guaranteed.

You will be welcomed by your private English speaking hosts with a festive glass of champagne and homemade nibbles. Would you like to have coffee, tea or something else, no problem! You receive the key to your room, beds are made up with fresh linen and the towels are in the room. The only thing you have to do is unpack your suitcase. Should you require ski and boots our ski hire suppliers have all been chosen with high standards of service in mind, the hosts can assist you.

You wake up to sunshine peeking in through the curtains, the scent of fresh coffee winds its way upstairs…

An abundant breakfast sets you up for a great day on the slopes. Start the day with a light or substantial breakfast with a choice of cereals, fruit and juices, yoghurts, plentiful tea and good filter coffee, bread from the famous local bakery (plus croissants or ‘pains au chocolat’ in France), toasts, cold meats, cheeses and preserves, and boiled eggs. This is normally presented buffet-style for you to help yourself. Unlike most other chalet companies who leave you to look after yourselves on hosts day off, this operators chalet hosts are on hand to help clear away breakfast and layout afternoon tea. Would you like to be the first on the piste or you would like to relax in the morning? You can agree the time of breakfast with the hosts. No worries about the dishes, the hosts will do this for you.

Lunch is not included in your chalet holiday. If you don’t plan to eat in a restaurant on the piste, but on a sunny place in the mountains, you can make a packed lunch for a small charge while you have breakfast. Your packed lunch consists of 2 bread rolls, a piece of fruit and a candy bar. The price will be €5.00 per pack. You can also decide to have your lunch in the chalet and order some more breads with your hosts in the morning for a small price.

    Afternoon Tea

When you get back from a day on the slopes a fresh homemade afternoon tea is waiting for you complete with a selection of homemade cookies, cake, scones or brownies. You can choose hot chocolate, tea, coffee glühwein or another drink. For younger children they can provide high tea, allowing children to get settled after the excitement of the day, giving parents the opportunity to enjoy the evening in a calm and care-free environment.

    For example:

    • Scones with strawberry jam
    • Frankfurter sausages in puff pastry
    • Quiche
    • Apple-cheese cookies
    • Roasted garlic – cheese bread
    • Lemon Crunch Cake

What's better than a dinner party when there is no preparation or washing up! The highlight of every day must be the delicious, innovative and freshly cooked three-course candle dinner prepared and served by your chalet hosts six evenings a week accompanied by local house wines, with coffee and tea to finish.

They are happy to cater for vegetarians and whenever possible for those needing special diets as long as we are notified at the time of booking. Please make sure this appears on your invoice otherwise they will not be able to plan their menus accordingly. Chalet hosts have the advantage of being flexible in their meal preparations. If you have any special dietary requirements, be it a vegetarian option or a special favourite for the kids, we will do our best (within reason!) to accommodate you.

This operator has received many compliments about the dinners. They will cook daily fresh menus every day. So, enjoy your drink while they prepare dinner! Maybe we will surprise you with a local cheese as the tartiflette with Reblochon cheese.

They want all their guests to enjoy their holiday and cooking with passion is very important part of that. Delicious and extensive food is an important part of a successful winter holiday! The hosts will spend a lot of time, care and attention in preparing the meals.

During a drink and a nibble, the hosts will discuss the menu and the dinner times with you. They can change the menu a little depending on your wishes. They can also discuss a special menu for the children. Please let us know and we can discuss the possibilities when we make your reservation. A couple of weeks before your stay you receive the phone number and email address from your chalet hosts if you would like to arrange some things before your arrival.

Because this operator aims to satisfy the preferences of all their guest, they also offer chalets with dinner in a restaurant nearby. In the ‘ski chalets facts’ section of all the chalets you can see if the dinner is in the chalet or in a restaurant. For sure, the breakfast is always in the chalet, so never in a restaurant. If the dinner is in a restaurant, this will be à la carte, based on a selected menu or standard. The drinks during the dinner are not including in the price. When you are back in your chalet, the drinks are included of course!

Please note that dinner and the cooked breakfast option are not available during the chalet hosts' day off when you will have the opportunity of eating at a local restaurant. Chalet hosts will be happy to give you information about the many wonderful local restaurants available in each of the resorts and to book a table for you.

Special menu and flexible dinner times for children

In almost all this operator's chalets, the chalet hosts will prepare dinner for all the group together. They can make a separate menu for the children. Naturally, if you have booked a whole chalet for your exclusive use, the choice of dining separately or together is entirely up to you. If you choose for the first option, it is a nice thought that you could relax during dinner while the children are sleeping in your own chalet safety and nearby.
