    , nights

Chalet de la Lune sleeps 12-13 guests in 6 bedrooms

It’s difficult to believe that this alluring chalet was once a working farmhouse with cows in the sitting room! Yet fast-forward 400 years and our guests are returning year-on-year to this fabulous building. The chalet oozes rustic character as well as having 21st-century luxuries such as en-suite bathrooms, underfloor heating, a cinema den and games room. As well as an outdoor hot tub on the terrace.

Enter the warm and atmospheric space that is the magnificent vault-ceilinged sitting and dining room and you’re magically transported to a luxurious Alpine lodge with the welcoming sofas, a roaring log fire and twinkling candles.

Dining in Chalet de la Lune is an important part of the holiday experience. Your own private chef will prepare a daily aperitif and canapé for you to enjoy by the fireside. Then you’ll be seated at the beautifully-dressed table for four-courses of fresh, creative food and our handpicked wines.

Chalet de la Lune has 6 beautifully appointed bedrooms with antique furniture that befits the chalet’s heritage. As well as contemporary bathrooms, a hairdryer in each room, fluffy towels and bathrobes, slippers, and 100% natural goodies from Cowshed spa products.

Let’s not forget The Den! Part of the enduring popularity of Chalet de la Lune is this rather special underground cavern, which has been converted into a cinema room with a library of DVDs, games, cards and books. As well as a Wii to keep the young-at-heart entertained.

In the new outdoor hot tub, you can soak away tired legs with a (plastic!) glass in hand in front of the incredible mountain view -Utter bliss! Also new are gorgeous handmade designer sofas and chairs in beautiful fabrics.

Please note that the hot tub is available for use until 10 pm.

    Please Note

Prices for this holiday are based on a Euro price and displayed in Pounds. Rates are updated regularly but prices are subject to fluctuation. If you'd prefer, you are also able to pay the cost of your holiday in Euros, please let us know if you would like to do this at the time of booking.

This operator's chefs visit the local market and restaurant suppliers each week to shop for the very best ingredients so that they can prepare outstanding 4-course meals in the evenings, as well as home-baked treats at tea-time and hearty breakfast options. They really love going to town and impressing their customers with their creative flair but can equally tone it down and produce fewer frills should your party prefer!

But they're also very flexible. If you’re a bit health-conscious or prefer something lighter or simpler than restaurant food every night, then do let us know. Your chef will give you a call at a convenient time before your arrival and you can have a chat about your likes, dislikes and dietary requirements so that they can be well-prepared with a menu that suits. Likewise, if your group have any allergies or intolerances then it’s important to let us know in advance so that they can be well equipped to cater for everyone.

    Travelling with children?

Fantastic! This operator has a repertoire of nutritious and scrummy suppers under their chefs’ hats so that your littlies will be well-nourished during the week. Again, don’t hesitate to let us know about any foods that will have them running screaming from the table or that will have their eyes light up with greedy glee! They’ll aim to have at least 3 of their 5-a-day down them during their chalet meals and you can raid the fruit bowl at any time of day.

    A typical day

Cup of tea in bed? Just say the word! Breakfast follows with something for everyone: a hearty bowl of porridge, homemade muesli, smoothies, yoghurt and fruit. Or indulge in a full English as you’ll be skiing it off?

Return to the chalet for fresh baguettes, butter and jam as well as a daily home-baked treat.

Relax with your feet up whilst the chef rustles up the daily aperitif and canapés, then take a seat at the candlelit table for four delicious courses including a selection of local cheeses and homemade chutney. Afterwards snuggle back to the fire for a digestif and a game of cards, curl up on a sofa with a film or discover the atmospheric bars of St Martin.

    We wholeheartedly agree

Wine has always been a large part of our lives. Not just drinking it, but learning about the whole process from vine to vat, from barrel to bottle. Back-breaking harvesting near Poitiers, treasure hunts in Fitou, touring the cellars of Burgundy and hosting journalist Champagne tastings, Team Talini are most certainly disciples of Bacchus.

How do they choose their wines?

They chose the brilliantly entertaining and wildly passionate Verre Gourmand to supply our wine and keep their guests happy, come wine o’clock.

Le Verre Gourmand are a UK company, based in Chamonix and they stock wines from all over the globe. Together, they’ve swirled, sipped and – sometimes – spat a huge selection of wines in order to compile our Talini wine list.

    So what made the list?

There’s a mix of classic French (when in Rome… Or should that be Beaune?), European and New World bottles. Each Autumn they go through the terribly arduous process of selecting the following winter’s list. Recently they’ve lapped up a fabulous spicy pinotage and crisp chenin blanc from South Africa. To refresh the palate, they selected a saucy sauvignon blanc and an organic Provençal rosé. They’ve kept things classy with unctuous Bordeaux and refined Chablis and their house wines are easy-drinkers from the verdant, sunny Languedoc. Their Champagne is an appley delight from Mardeuil and we also offer a house Prosecco for a splash of sparkly joy when the mood strikes!

Their house wines are always available for that moment you return parched from the slopes, alongside free-flowing beers and soft drinks.

During dinner, your host and chef will select from our list to ensure that the meal is accompanied by an appropriate bottle, although if you particularly enjoyed last night’s, don’t be afraid to request its return!

If you’re an ‘amateur du vin’ and would like to have a guided tasting session during your stay, don’t hesitate to ask, we can easily call on the services of an expert with a little advance notice!
