Alta ski resort information
Alta and Snowbird are two linked ski resorts within the Utah area. Renowned for their powder snow – you won’t get better anywhere! If you combine the two areas you have the largest ski area in the United States. The ski area is less than an hour’s drive from Salt Lake City. There are two separate bases, Albion and Wildcat which are also both linked by a 2 way tow rope. There are very few choices of places to stay though all have good reputations.
The lightly wooded and non wooded slopes of Alta stretch to the Left above Albion and have easy green terrain which melts into Blue and black runs further afield. Over to the right is the Wildcat bowl with steeper black runs to each side and an easier blue section down the middle. You can get from one side to another at the top of via the tow rope at the base.
