If you have never visited Zermatt, you are in for a rare treat. This car-free, historic village is very special, full of romance and character and the substantial recent investment in the infrastructure means that Zermatt is now a ski area to rival the best in the world.
Chalet Paradies occupies the third and fourth floors of an apartment beside the Matterhorn Express lift at the top (and quiet) end of the village. Built using a mixture of wood and natural stone, the apartment has a wonderfully authentic look but surprises you with its contemporary style interior. The open plan sitting/dining room has been furnished using stylish furniture and strong colours and benefits from fantastic south facing views of the Matterhorn.
The kitchen is open plan which means that you can watch your supper being prepared and get tips on where to find the best snow from your cook host.
There are three bedrooms, one Austrian twin with en-suite bathroom with shower on the third floor, one Austrian twin with en-suite bathroom with shower and one double/twin with separate bathroom on the upper floor, with a stone staircase connecting the two. The apartment also has a lovely wide wooden balcony with fantastic views of the Matterhorn.
On the ground level of the building are the shared facilities including Jacuzzi, sauna and ski / boot room with boot warmers.
Chalet Paradies has 3 well proportioned modern bedrooms with stylish bath/shower rooms with dark stone tiles and contemporary fittings. There are two Austrian twin/double bedrooms and 1 twin/double bedroom.
Room 2 - Austrian twin
This twin room on the upper floor is about 14m2 and has views of the valley and an en-suite shower room.
Room 3 - Austrian twin
Room 3 has views of the valley. It is on the lower floor and is about 14m2. The bed is an Austrian twin consisting of two single mattresses in one bed frame and there is an en-suite shower room. The room is suitable for a cot.
Room 1 - Twin
Room 1 is a small twin room (about 11m2). The bathroom is on the other side of the landing.
This operator pioneered skiing holidays with childcare and this is an optional extra that many families consider indispensable. We offer childcare from 4 months and ensure that children have the most fantastic holidays and that parents can completely relax with peace of mind that their family is in great hands. Your children can be taken to and collected from ski lessons and will be kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity programme and given healthy home made lunches and snacks.
Childcare
Our childcare staff are qualified professionals and guests at Paradies can opt to have a private nanny service. Babysitting is available too. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can be provided to all guests on request, mostly free of charge.
Private Nanny
Qualified (CACHE trained or similar) nannies who are recruited for their mature but fun approach to childcare. The operator offers pre-season training, which includes a comprehensive first aid course. Nannies provide a structured day including food, entertainment and transport to and from lessons.
Baby Sitting
Baby sitting in the evenings is available on a request basis and is approximately 15 Euros per hour until midnight after this time the charge is 20 euros per hour which is payable locally.
Facilities
Chalet Paradies offers a Wellness area with steam room and sauna (shared with other apartments, subject to availability and charges apply). On the ground floor there is a shared ski and boot room with heated boot warmers.
The living room has a flat screen TV, DVD player, CD and iPod player as well as a games console and a selection of games and a telephone.
