Skiers who know Verbier will also know the Rosalp- mostly from driving past it every morning and afternoon on the ski-bus hike from outlying chalets to and from the Médran lift, and probably thinking’ I wish I was staying there’! Well, now you can, with the full Chalet Hotel cuisine and service to make you comfortable and welcome in the heart of Verbier.
The Rosalp enjoys an absolutely prime location, just 150m from the main Médran gondola, and equally close to the ‘Rond Point’at the centre of Verbier’s exciting range of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants.
Verbier is renowned as a very spread-out resort, with most chalets some way from the centre, lifts and pistes, with ski buses therefore being an unavoidable part of the ski experience here. What a sheer pleasure it is therefore to just stroll straight from the Rosalp to the main Medran lifts in less than two minutes, and ski back to the same point at the end of the day
Verbier’s lively and varied après-ski scene is also within a few minutes easy walk, as is a wide choice of restaurants for your hosts one evening off.
From the moment you step into its marbled entrance hall and reception area, the Rosalp wraps you in its welcoming arms.
The well appointed bedrooms are split over two separately accessed wings of the building, one of which has a lift. The rooms are furnished in an attractively eclectic mixture of styles, and most are perfectly spacious enough to take an extra put-up bed if required. All have a flat-screen TV, most have a balcony or terrace, and all have stylishly fitted bathrooms en suite.
The communal areas are equally attractive and welcoming, with old, polished wood panelling giving a warm glow to the lovely dining-room and adjacent lounge. The lounge in turn connects through to the hotel’s own residents’ bar – the ideal spot for an après-ski drink by the log fire, or a fun evening with friends old and new.
As a slight variation to our normal Chalet Hotel operation, meals here are prepared by the chef and team of the independently run à la carte ‘Restaurant La Pinte’, which occupies part of the ground floor of the building. Meals of course still follow our popular Chalet Hotel style and menus, with the Ski Total team looking after you in the dining-room as normal.
The Rosalp’s sauna, steam-room and spa-bath complete the facilities for a thoroughly enjoyable stay with us here in Verbier!
The two Médran gondolas are the main access route up to Les Ruinettes and the heart of Verbier’s huge ski area. From here, more lifts head on to La Chaux and Mont Gelé at over 3,000m, and the famously scenic cable-car ride to Mont Fort. Further piste and lift connections take you on to the Haute-Nendaz and Veysonnaz areas, and if you want to ski the Savoleyres / La Tzoumaz area, the ski-bus to the Savoleyres cable-car stops close to the Rosalp.
