The addition of the Montpelier to our portfolio in Verbier is an absolute delight and something of a coup as it is an exceptionally well-regarded hotel locally. With its superb facilities coupled with our friendly and professional Chalet Hotel service, we have no doubt that our first guests will be more than happy with this fabulously well-appointed hotel and feel sure it will become a firm favourite.
The Montpelier is well placed in Verbier. It is just a short stroll to the resort centre with its fabulous shops and restaurants, as well as the numerous aprés ski venues, assuming that you wish to go out and leave behind the comfortable Chalet Hotel and its leisure facilities.
The quickest way to get to the Médran lifts is by the frequent and free bus service that stops just outside. As with all things Swiss, you can rely on its timekeeping and efficiency so you will never be kept waiting long. For those who prefer to make their own way to the lifts, it is a 10-12 minutes' walk.
Entering the Montpelier you are immediately struck by its welcoming warmth and charm. The stunning reception area, bar, lounge and dining rooms are cleverly inter-linked ensuring a soothing and ambient cosiness overall.
The excellent bedrooms are split over four floors on two separate sides of the hotel, each with their own stairway and lift. The bedrooms range in size from single bedrooms to suites that will sleep up to four guests and most have en suite facilities and balconies. The impressive suites have two separate sleeping areas; a twin bedroom and a lounge with one or two sofa-beds, so offer a unique opportunity for two friends to have separate and spacious sleeping quarters at minimal additional cost. One, Suite 312, even has two separate bathrooms both with bath and wc!
The 'pièce de la resistance' in the Montpelier has to be the Wellness Spa with its indoor swimming pool with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a south-facing terrace across the valley and to the mountains beyond. The pool has a special feature for those with energy to swim against its exhausting current as well as an attractive cascading fountain. The additional sauna and steam room offer further ways to unwind before sitting poolside and relaxing whilst soaking up the awesome Alpine views.
