When you think of Switzerland you think of St Moritz and you think £££££'s! -
Don't be put off - yes it is expensive but no more than any of the other popular French resorts.
Skiing in Switzerland has to be experienced! Think of the most famous resorts that spring to mind and many of them will be in
Switzerland. Zermatt, Verbier, Klosters and St Mortiz. You may have thought that they were beyond reach but think again - if
your budget stretches to French resorts it will certainly stretch to Swiss ones too!
The slopes of Switzerland are pretty impressive with some of the most challenging runs in the world. The old images of slow lifts,
outdated cable cars and long queues are steadily being put firmly in the past as resorts invest again in their infrastructure.
There are certain drawbacks, in that the ruling families of these villages do still have a huge hold on them and competition is therefore stifled so
that ski schools 'are what they are' and do not see the need to improve without other competition to spur them on.
The villages are beautiful and the mountain restaurants are said to be the best in the world. The top class hotels of Gstaad and St Moritz are
always going to be top class and will attract a certain clientele that can afford them. However there are other hotels to choose from and
once outside the first class skiing and scenery will still be there for everyone!
You will find Swiss efficiency abound! If the bus says it will run at 10:03 - it will run at 10:03 to the dot! The prices may be 'pricey' -
but what you will get will be first class - the service and food will be good!
Skiing resorts in Switzerland are wide and varied - from the smaller picture-postcard mountain villages such as Champery to the
jaw dropping scenery of Zermatt, to the awesome skiing of Verbier - Switzerland has it all.
